The stand features special "frictioning" rubber to hold the desk at the desired angle. It's equipped with a clutchless grip for easy height adjustment and an inner locking mechanism to secure desk height. Simply push the upper shaft until a yellow switch appears at the base of the shaft. Then twist clockwise one click at a time to loosen, and counter-clockwise to tighten.
