Engineered to work with the latest 40-megapixel X-Trans sensors, the ultra-wide focal length delivers sharpness across the frame with the aid of two extra-low dispersion and three aspherical elements to suppress lens aberrations. The rectilinear design minimizes distortion, ensuring vertical lines in a scene stay vertical in the resulting images and video.
Despite its capabilities, the XF 8mm lens remains lightweight and compact, weighing only 7.6 oz. Focusing speeds are improved, with an inner focusing mechanism and low focus breathing, making it suitable for both video and stills.
