Chrome-plated brass mounts are also used for enhanced reliability and durability.
Mount Vintage Lenses on Digital Cameras
Whether you're shooting digitally or on film, FotodioX offers a bountiful selection of lens adapters with strong support for mirrorless camera platforms and hundreds of options for mounting both modern and vintage lenses. Mix camera/lens platforms or reinvigorate vintage glass. The adapters deliver infinity focus, manual aperture control, and a sturdy build for lasting quality.
Versatile, Dependable, Adaptable
Putting old lenses onto new, high-performance DSLR or mirrorless cameras seems counter-intuitive so why would anyone want to? The simple answer is that many older lenses can capture images that have that elusive quality known as character. For photographers or videographers who want to create unique images that express their personal style, character can be even more important than resolution numbers, corner-to-corner sharpness, and other advantages of the near-perfect lenses that are quite common today.
Affordable and Easy to Use
The FotodioX standard adapter is the perfect purchase for anyone who's new to using adapters. An affordable alternative to the Pro adapter, these accessories can be adjusted to prevent light leaks and ensure a perfect fit.
Leica M 6-Bit Lens Coding System
The Leica M 6-bit lens coding system works together with firmware in the newer camera bodies (starting with M8) to correct for various lenses. The lens coding is called 6-bit coding because six fields in the bayonet ring are marked in black or white to represent a number from 1 to 64 in binary code. The information on the lens is used to help the camera to optimize image quality, and this information is also written into the EXIF image file.
Advantages of Older Lenses
The imperfections and aberrations of older lenses are the very strengths that set them apart from modern lenses. Additionally, a fully mechanical lens is likely repairable longer and less expensively than modern lenses. Old lenses also let you change camera systems, in case your mount is retired, and your lenses are therefore unusable.
Precise and Solid Connection
FotodioX employs professional photographers in every aspect of development and design to create products that are built to last. The Pro line of adapters is crafted to withstand the rigors and demands of the professional photographer. The adapters are manufactured with precise tolerances, providing a solid, gap-free connection for stress-free use.
All-Metal Construction, Secure and Solid Fit
FotodioX Pro adapters feature all-metal construction to create a secure connection between your glass and camera that will not degrade over time, keeping the lens-to-camera connection secure. Chrome-plated brass mounts are used for enhanced durability and reliability.
