FotodioX NIKG-GFX-PRO Reviews
FotodioX Nikon F Lens to FUJIFILM G
FotodioX Nikon F Lens to FUJIFILM G. It is a super adapter on which the aperture can be set. I bought it because of the Nikon 10.5 /2,8 lens, which I will use on the Fuji GFX.
Good!!
It's working good
400mm/f2.8 for Fuji GFX-100
Want long glass for the Fuji GFX100? This is the only thing I've found that actually works. The aperture ring functions well, but you have to guess how wide it is. The GFS100 is very good at showing you. There may be the slightest bit of play. The only real concern I had was when I first mounted it. I suggest you put the adapter on the lens and then play with the aperture ring to make sure it's opening and closing the aperture. Mine wasn't. I poked at something inside and it popped in a bit, and I had trouble getting it off the lens at first, so I put the lens/adapter on the camera and then removed it. It popped during removal and now everything looks normal. I probably should not have poked around, but it seems to be working now.
Fits like a glove!
Well made and works as intended. Very happy!
It works, but a few things to know.
The adapter works as advertised. A few things to note: When you first try it, your GFX camera won't work. You have to go into the menus to select an option to let the shutter fire when no lens is attached. There aren't any electrical contacts on the adapter, so the GFX thinks there's no lens. Given that it's impossible to use the adapter without knowing this, you'd think they'd mention it in the packaging. Be sure the red ring is set for the widest aperture when mounting your Nikon lens. Once mounted, the aperture ring may not turn to the widest setting, but don't force it. Open until there is a little resistance, then stop. You can see in the lens that it's open as wide as it can go. The aperture won't open and close when you fire the shutter. Wherever you set it is where it stays, so you'll be focusing at the aperture set. Fine if it's not too dark, or you aren't stopped down much. On the other hand, it keeps you safe from focus shift. There's a little play in the mount, so be aware with heavier lenses. I've used it with the Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art, shot mostly wide open, and it works very well. It's a little softer in the corners, without too much vignetting. I tend to use my GFX camera at a 5:4 crop, which pretty much hides what I've just described. It gives a really nice sharpness/falloff that simply isn't available on Fuji's 45mm, 50mm or 63mm lenses. With the Sigma 35mm 1.4, it's more obvious that you're using a lens designed for a smaller sensor.
For Astro Work
Bought to allow Nikon Mount Sigma Art lens use for night photography. Works as advertised, with some fall off, but crop-able. Didnt need the aperture ring since Im usually shooting wide open or nearly wide open. Bottom line its well made and works. PRO
Fits well and works!
Works like it's supposed to. Great fit. Probably no one else will care about this, but the red 1% bugs me. I'd rather not have my adapter stand out. Just a personal preference. But it's a great adapter.
Don't have to second guest this.
Having used this product for roughly a week, I am still amazed every time I use it. To have an adaptor from two different worlds to take my artistic whims to a different level is inspiring. My girlfriend has upgraded to a Nikon Z7, and having kept her 100 mm macro lens from her previous set-up was all but happy to lend me her lens ... for a while. The FotodioX is really, really well made, I can only but recommend it. Cheers, R
