The Formatt 4x4" Soft Gold Enhancing 2 Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass Filter is designed to provide a high quality softening without diffusion and color split. It is intended to give a soft warm feel to any image and is particularly useful in removing facial blemishes. Its unique design enables the softening to be concentrated at a medium distance focal point, leaving the background unaffected.

- Soft gold enhancers use internal reflection to disperse light from the subject
- The use of specially developed gold platelets removes the harsh blue wavelengths from the image (yellow is the complimentary color to blue); They are suspended in a matrix which is tinted with a unique enhancer, adsorbing the harsh short wavelengths and transmitting the warmer, longer wavelengths; The light reflected from the platelets bounces back from the internal boundary layer and is refracted from its normal path
