The ED80 80mm f/6 Essential Series Air-Spaced Triplet Refractor Telescope from Explore Scientific is a true apochromatic telescope that reveals celestial wonders such as lunar terrain, the structure of Saturn's rings, and the brightest deep-sky treasures of the Messier catalog.

Offering true diffraction-limited optics with genuine HOYA FCD1 ED glass, the ED80 is a high-quality telescope ideal for spontaneous, grab-and-go stargazing sessions. Featuring an air-spaced triplet optical design that virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations, this telescope generates high-contrast images by combining genuine HOYA extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and proprietary EMD enhanced multilayer deposition coatings on all optical surfaces.

Although it is a standout telescope on its own, the ED80 is also compact enough to mount on a larger telescope, which can add versatility to your astrophotography experience by separating the guiding and imaging duties. The telescope tube's outside diameter is 91mm.

The ED80 features a 2" rack-and-pinion focuser with two extension tubes. The Explore Scientific Hybrid Finder Scope Base is also installed on the scope to support an optional finder scope.
