Featuring a single lightweight microphone mounted on the bell, the SPX1 captures the true sound of the soprano saxophone while maximizing gain-before-feedback. Tuned specifically for soprano, the SPX1 addresses common mic?ing challenges and ensures your tone translates clearly in live and studio settings.
Versatile Use for Live and Section Players
Ideal for solo performers, principal players, and horn section musicians, the SPX1 provides reliable performance across volume levels and stage environments. While optimized for soprano, the SPX1 can also be repositioned for use on alto, tenor, or baritone saxophones using the included SX-CL clamp. This flexibility makes it a practical solution for multi-instrumentalists who need a dependable, lightweight microphone system for various instruments.
Flexible Mounting with Reliable Isolation
The SPX1 mounts securely with the spring-loaded SX-CL clamp, which includes a reinforcement screw for added stability during high-energy performances. A 5.5" USA-made flex-stay gooseneck allows precise placement while avoiding keywork interference. The microphone is suspended in a 7-point isolation shockmount with replaceable O-rings, minimizing vibration and handling noise while allowing the mic to maintain its position.
Includes TA3 to TA4 Cable for Shure Transmitters
This version of the SPX1 ships with a TA3 to TA4 cable for Shure wireless bodypack transmitters. The modular design allows players to move between traditional wired setups (with the separately available PS95 power supply / preamp) and flexible wireless configurations with minimal effort. Optional packages are available for different wireless configurations.
