Erica Synths Plasma Drive Overview
Modular synthesizer enthusiasts looking for a monster distortion unit will be impressed with the erica synths Plasma Drive, a high-voltage distortion Eurorack module with a unique distortion / signal-clipping flavor. Developed in collaboration with Gamechanger Audio, the Plasma Drive boosts your audio signal to 3000V and transforms it into a series of continuous high-voltage discharges in a Xenon-filled tube. The signal is then converted back to an analog audio signal, producing a quick, responsive, and heavy distortion with tons of character.
The Plasma Drive provides CV control over distortion levels and the dry/wet mix, and gives you oscillators that track one octave up, and one and two octaves down, adding even more harmonics to the original signal. Tracking oscillators can be switched on/off manually or via trigger signals. The module includes a power ribbon cable and a set of mounting screws.
