Waited a while before pulling the trigger on this purchase. Sorry I waited so long.
Terrible design
I bought this out of necessity, but it's really poorly designed. There's no click when the lens is secured, so it's very difficult to tell if the lens is in place unless you try to pull it off. The protrusions that are meant to turn the mechanism to lock in place are hard to get at, it jams easily and regularly. It's so fiddly to try to mount the lens to the camera I'm constantly worried the back of the lens will slip and hit the sensor, as it's extremely shallow. I really hope someone releases another option, because this is all we've got.
Doesn't Work after 11 shoots.
I received the mount mid march and took it on 11 shoots. I fired up the 4D today June 21st, 2022 and couldn't focus or adjust aperture. I slapped on the DL mount and used the DJI lens and everything worked great. I slapped my sony lens on my FX3 and everything good. I've spend the last 5 hours troubleshooting the e-mount and no luck. Everything points to the e-mount. Pretty crappy that I spent almost $450 Canadian for an item that lasted 11 shoots. Definitely, not happy.
Not made very well but there are some tricks
As with many other users, there is an issue with this adapter as discussed in the Vic Stah Milien video and blog post. You can search for it to see the issue first hand and read the comment so f those having the issue PRIOR to buying it.
Doesn't fit
After trying about a hundred times I'm convinced it's a manufacturer defect. This thing should go on like butter but it doesn't secure. I'm not going to stress the lever and risk breaking it. Returning tomorrow and hopefully the next one I get is better. But this is our only option for the Ronin 4D sooooo yeah.
it is great
its great because it is very professional , but the only thing is that is a third party , I pretended that I spend 7000 on a camera like that I already have the Lens's of E- mount and I have to Spend around 300 more for the E mount for the camera. I Think this should be an optional to choose which on you need.
Must have item for R4D
This adapter opens up so many possibilities for the lens options for DJI R4D.
Flawless after update
If you are having problems with autofocus, be sure to update the firmware of the mount. All of the problems with autofocus are gone, and you don't even need to calibrate the lenses anymore.
