Serious content creators can make post-production simpler, faster, and more cost-effective by adding timecode to their multicamera shoot workflow with the Deity Microphones TC-1, a professional wireless timecode generator housed in an ultraportable little box. Recording timecode to all your cameras and audio recorders using TC-1 boxes that are synchronized (jam synched) ensures that sound and picture from every source automatically fall right into place in post. This high-quality generator boasts an ultralow drift rate of only one frame every 72 hours, enabling your footage and audio to remain tightly locked over the course of the daywhether shooting with a Sound Devices or Zoom recorder, or a DSLR/mirrorless or ARRI camera.
You can wirelessly jam the TC-1 from your phone via Bluetooth at up to 250' or even sync it from other TC-1 boxes using the company's proprietary 8-channel, 2.4 GHz radio ecosystem. You can also hardwire-jam it or use it to internally generate timecode and jam other devices. An easily readable OLED display provides instant feedback to assure you all the units are in lockstep. This kit comes with three TC-1 boxes, great for shoots when sound is recorded separately or when multiple cameras are filming the same event.
- Set of three TC-1 wireless timecode generator boxes
- Timecode: All SMPTE timecode formats
- Jam sync and control wirelessly from your phone via Bluetooth using the Sidus Audio mobile app (supports up to 20 TC-1s)
- Jam sync and control wirelessly from other TC-1 boxes via 8-channel, 2.4 GHz radio ecosystem
- Hardwire jam sync via locking 3.5mm TRS timecode port
- Use to generate timecode internally and jam other devices
- Wireless range: 30' (2.4 GHz); 250' (Bluetooth)
- Wireless RF channels: 8
- Timecode accuracy: ±0.5 ppm
- Drift: <1 frame per 72 hours
- Frame rates: 23.98, 24, 25, 29,97, 29.97DF, 30 fps
- 1" OLED display
- Onboard controls and menu
- Onboard omnidirectional microphone for reference audio
- LED status lights indicate power, TC sync, and wireless pairing
- USB-C charging: Two hours to fully charge; up to 28-hour battery life
- Includes all Deity timecode cables
- Includes hook-and-loop and DSLR cold shoe mount
With more devices than ever now supporting SMPTE timecode, syncing footage and audio in post has never been easier or quicker. Rather than wasting time lining up waveforms, using timecode helps save time and money, and it gets your deliverables out the door faster.
Wireless connectivity means you can easily jam sync multiple boxes remotely during the day, eliminating even this tiny amount of drift. Two wireless control options are available. Bluetooth 5.0 support allows you to use the Sidus Audio app on your phone to jam sync and control every aspect of up to twenty TC-1 units at a distance up to 250' away. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, the unit's OLED screen and control panel allow you to sync up to eight units remotely via proprietary wireless 2.4 GHz technology at a distance up to 30' away.
Use the included 3.5mm TRS cable with your DSLR/mirrorless to record timecode to the left channel, leaving the right available for reference audio via the onboard omnidirectional microphone (which conveniently points in the same direction as the lens to capture absolute audio backups).
Included are additional timecode cables for connecting to professional cameras and recorders equipped with 5-pin LEMO or BNC timecode ports.

Deity Microphones TC-1 Reviews
Great TC
Great unit. Very convenient to have both the app and a display/on board menu. Good price, especially when it is on sales...
Wish Time-of-Day was Default
Great tool. Works as advertised. Unfortunately it resets to 00:00 every time it's powered down, so don't power it down on a shoot. I really wish it would maintain the Time-of-Day, which can be set in the app, so I wouldn't need to reconfigure that. Can't that just be a box to tick in the settings??
Great for something
I jammed it with my Zaxcom maxx with all the right settings and it seems like the deity would find a 2-3 frame difference. It might be user error because I don't read manuals but it's just something to check. I did watch the YouTube video so I did know how to navigate the menu system. It's a great video btw if you aren't a manual person either.
Beware Premiere Pro Users
The units themselves are of excellent quality and appear to work well. If your kit uses cinema cameras with TC in, I'd whole heartedly recommend these items. However, you need to know this: Premiere Pro doesn't currently accept timecode generated from audio-- meaning if you have a DSLR these will NOT work in PP. Also, they only come with one single cable of each type (BNC, Lemo, 3.5mm jack), despite having three TC generators. What a lack of foresight. You'll need to spend additional $$ to make these work likely. Why not just offer a complete package? 3/5
Features and value
These compact units are full of features. Great battery life, on sc
Best device made for filming
If you film using multiple cameras or audio devices, this is exactly what you need, priced way less than the closest competitor, better functionality and GUI/app. These things just plain work!
So far so good
I've been using Ambient before this. The lockitboxs seem to be the industry standard in timecode, but they are costly. If the TC-1s do what they say they do, they're game changers. Lit clear screen, small size, good build design, simple menu fiction. I've tested it using my Zoom f8 for BNC in and out, and TC-1 to TC-1. Works great. Kept them running over night. Battery lasted 20 hours and kept in sync. My only fear is that they and Deity's timecode cables will not last over time. I had the W.Lav Pro lavs and the adapter kept breaking on me. After having to buy a fourth adapter, I just decided to get rid of the lav altogether. Made me hesitant to buy another Deity product, but I wanna support these guys and this looks like a good product. I'll have to update this review after more usage, but so far so good. Not looking forward to getting the batteries serviced though as you can not replace them yourself like Tentacles (it better be years until I have to do that or I can't recommend these). I hope they stand the test of time.
