CINEGEARS Multi-Axis Wireless Follow Focus Kit

The Multi-Axis Wireless Follow Focus Kit  from CINEGEARS allows you to set up a wireless lens control system on your camera equipped with a geared lens and either 15mm or 19mm support rods. It includes a wireless multi-axis hand controller, a wireless receiver, three multi-control motors, as well as mounting accessories and spare gears. The wireless hand controller does not have physical hard stops for lens control, but it does allow you to adjust the end points to program focus stops. The controller also incorporates a zoom control slider and iris adjustment.

The motors connect via wires to the wireless receiver that mounts to your camera or rig. The wireless receiver can drive up to six motors, making it suitable for controlling focus, zoom, and iris on a single camera or stereoscopic rig. The wireless receiver can also control the start/stop of your camera. Each motor comes with a replaceable steel cinema-style drive gear. Furthermore, the kit includes four different replacement gears with gear MODs of 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 in case you have to drive lenses with non-cine-style gearing or plastic lens gears. The three included gear re-locators allow you to use lenses that feature focus, zoom, or iris adjustment in the opposite direction from standard, without having to alter your focus-pulling technique for those lenses. The kit fits into a waterproof case with foam inserts to protect your equipment during transport and storage.

• Multi-Axis Motor

  The CINEGEARS Multi-Axis Motor provides precise repeatable control of your focus, zoom, or iris ring, and is suitable for use with both prime lenses and most zooms. It is compatible with an optional CINEGEARS Multi-Axis Wireless Receiver for use with your CINEGEARS Multi-Axis Wireless Controller, and it ships with an interchangeable cine-style 0.8 MOD drive gear. It requires an optional LEMO power / control cable and rod clamp, which are available separately. You may use this motor to drive the focus, zoom, or iris gear ring on your lens. Once mounted, the lens motor will calibrate itself to your lens in a simple process. You can also manually remap your lens with the optional hand controller, and program multiple stops along the lens, simulating either hard stops, or focus positions. The motor direction is electronically reversible if you need to change the orientation of your motor, or are working with a lens that focuses in the opposite direction to standard cine lenses. The motor incorporates a 5-pin LEMO jack for power and motor control.

  Wireless Control

  The motor requires connection to your CINEGEARS Multi-Axis Wireless Receiver via an optional 5-pin LEMO cable for power and control. The wireless receiver works in conjunction with your CINEGEARS Multi-Axis Wireless Controller allowing you to control your Multi-Axis motor wirelessly.

  Metal Drive Gear

  The included aluminum 0.8 MOD gear fits cine-style lens gears. The gear is removable, so you can swap it out for optional gears for video lenses and non-standard lens gears. The gear's motor facing surface is made from chrome-plated stainless steel, which matches the facing surface of the motor drive.

  Motor Function

  The motor will calibrate itself to your lens and also allows you to remap the lens to your controller. You can program multiple stop points, especially useful when working with infinitely rotating lenses, or if you wish the set specific focus points on an optional focus hand-wheel.

  Reversible

  The motor drive is reversible, which allows you to use lenses that focus in the opposite direction from standard without having to add a physical reversing gear.

  The CINEGEARS Multi-Axis Wireless Receiver provides connection between optional CINEGEARS multi-axis motors and an optional CINEGEARS wireless controller. It supports a total of six axes to control up to six motors, which makes this system suitable for use with a two-camera stereoscopic system.

  The CINEGEARS 2" Rod Bracket for Lens Control Motors mounts on a 19mm support rod and allows you to mount your CINEGEARS lens control motor on your rods and drive your lens's geared focus, zoom, or iris. It features a spring-loaded locking lever that allows you to tighten the bracket on the clamp, while at the same time securing the motor to the clamp.

  Provides height adjustment when used with an optional CINEGEARS Lens Control Motor.

  The 19mm clamp is designed to work specifically with 19mm support rods.

  The spring-loaded locking levers allow you to tighten or loosen the clamps, even when you do not have room to rotate the lever through 360° of rotation. If the lever becomes blocked, you gently pull up on the lever, rotate it back, and lower the lever to continue tightening or loosening it.

It features two spring-loaded locking levers; one that allows you to tighten the bracket on the rod, and a second locking lever that secures the motor to the clamp.

  The CINEGEARS 4 x 38mm Diameter Replacement Gear Set for CINEGEARS Lens Motors features 4 lightweight plastic gears that allow you to drive most geared cine or ENG-style lenses. The gears can replace the original aluminum drive gears for CINEGEARS lens motors, providing a cost effective solution to handle surprises in the field.
  
  Each gear is only 38mm in diameter, and features a captive mounting screw. The smaller diameter of the replacement gear, as compared to the standard drive gears, may provide smoother movement as you drive the lens with your motor. Each gear is labeled allowing you to easily select the right gear for your lens. The gear marked 0.8 is for cine-style lenses. Gears marked 0.5 and 0.6 are standard for ENG-style lenses.

• Motor Gear Re-Locator

  The CINEGEARS Motor Gear Re-Locator consists of a chrome plated stainless steel spacer that allows you to position your drive gears about 0.5" from the normal gear location when using your CINEGEARS motors. The spacer is made of the same material, chrome-plated stainless steel, as the inside of the CINEGEARS metal gear to prevent gear stripping.
  Included with the gear spacer is an attachment screw, which is needed to attach your drive gear to your motor with the spacer in place.

  The CINEGEARS Single Axis Wireless Motor Power Cable provides power to your motor from an optional power source outfitted with a D-tap connector. The cable features a D-tap connector on one end and a 2-pin LEMO connector on the other. The cable features plastic insulation, and it can handle from 12 to 28 VDC.
