Cetacea Sound XL Ceiling Speaker Overview
The Cetacea Astronaut XL is a powerful, full-range loudspeaker engineered for large classrooms, lecture halls, and other spaces where higher output and broader coverage are required. Designed around Cetacea�s patented flat-panel transducer technology, the XL model offers the same natural, intelligible sound signature as the Astronaut CL, but in a larger format, capable of greater acoustic output and extended low-frequency response. The package includes a 25' speaker cable, 30' long-run power supply, and volume control.
Optimized for Larger Rooms and Higher Output Needs
With increased surface area and power handling, the Astronaut XL is ideal for spaces up to approximately 1500 square feet with 12' ceilings. Its omnidirectional sound field ensures consistent coverage across a wide listening area, minimizing volume drop-offs and enhancing clarity for every seat in the room. The larger panel size delivers more impactful sound while retaining the controlled dispersion and low-distortion characteristics of Cetacea's flat-panel design.
Full-Range Performance
The XL model offers an extended frequency response from 70 Hz to 15 kHz, powered by a 60W amplifier, providing ample headroom for both voice reinforcement and multimedia playback. Like the CL, the XL uses a magnetically shielded custom transducer, resulting in precise, low-distortion sound with excellent speech intelligibility and smooth tonal balance across the frequency spectrum.
Installation-Ready for Permanent Integration
Despite its enhanced output, the Astronaut XL maintains a slim, sealed enclosure designed for permanent installation in professional AV environments. It includes a rear metal mounting plate with four threaded inserts, allowing it to be mounted securely directly to ceilings. The durable ABS enclosure and enclosed design protect the transducer from dust and debris in high-traffic or equipment-dense spaces.
Reliable, Passive Operation for Demanding Applications
