The larger 2" nosepiece fits into all visual backs, holders, and accessories and allows maximum light transmission while helping to produce the exceptionally long and comfortable 52mm eye relief. Its housing is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy with a reflection-limiting matte anodized finish, and a fold-down eyecup makes this eyepiece ideal for viewing over extended periods with or without eyewear. Standard threads on the front of the nosepiece allow you to use most 2" filters. Weighing almost a pound, Celestron thoughtfully put a textured non-slip rubber ring around the middle of the eyepiece for better handling when inserting and removing it from your telescope.
