Great paper for fine art photography
Beautifully smooth, makes the image pop.
Don't bother - poor quality - blue/black marks on it
I've now bought two boxes of the Canson Infinity Arches 88 Matte Paper (A3+ and 17 x 22). The majority of the sheets have small blue/black marks on them. Canson's QC must be poor. It is a shame because it is a great smooth matte pure white paper, just almost always has flaws. Save your money and find a different paper.
New Paper, Great Results
This new paper from Canson is better than first reported. The quality is especially noticeable when creating B&W prints. Deep rich blacks when used with an Epson P600 printer. If you are looking for a better than average paper to make B&W matte prints this should be your choice. paper is archival, base is made by Arches, and I highly recommend it. made sure the product reached me in excellent condition and it was delivered when promised.
Bright white finish with no OBA's
It is hard to beat Canson papers and I have used quite a few different formulations. The Arches 88 has a great white finish that is much brighter than Vellin or even Baryta. For the right print this look is outstanding.
Canson 88 matte paper
I love this paper, and ordered two boxes; however, only one box of what I ordered arrived. The other was a different paper, Rag Photographique, which may or may not be as good. Who knows? I'll give it a try.
Printable Arches Paper
Years ago I used Arches Rives paper for drawing and watercolor. This new paper combines Canson's quality with Arches permanence to create a superb printing paper for specific print applications for drawings and certain types of photographic images. The paper has substantial weight, good reproduction of shadow detail and color separation. Glad to see they chose to produce it in 11 x17 size.
Finest Matt Art Paper to date
This paper is bright write. Contains NO OBA's. The surface is VERY smooth. Thickness is excellent, 310gsm, so the paper is very firm. I've used several rolls and never had an issue with it. For landscapes, I haven't or seen anything as nice as this paper, but I haven't tried them all. Clouds are white, not off white. Thanks Canson.
