Cam Caddie OCC-0100-EX Overview
The Cam Caddie Scorpion EX is a versatile universal camera handle and stabilizer that allows you to maneuver compact cameras such as DSLRs, point-and-shoots, and action cameras the same way as you would a traditional video camcorder. The ergonomic handle is constructed from a lightweight composite and a custom formulated polymer grip, providing a stable and solid platform to comfortably hold and maneuver the camera. You can even mount a DSLR camera perpendicular to the top handle, which positions the back portion of the handle on the side of your camera for two-handed shooting.
For shoulder-mounted shooting, the feet of the Scorpion EX have standard 1/4"-20 threading, allowing you to attach an optional cheese plate. The cheese plate facilitates mounting to the tripods and the optional Scorpion EX Shoulder Support. Included with the Scorpion EX is an Accessory Shoe that attaches to the handle and allows you to mount an accessory such as a recorder, microphone, LED light, or external monitor. Additional Accessories Shoes are available purchased to expanded the system further.

Cam Caddie OCC-0100-EX Reviews
My 2 stars are for the potential of this
My 2 stars are for the potential of this device. It is made for miniature cameras. The space between the base and handle where your fingers clench is too small for my D5 with a Zacuto mount and Monfrotto 394 low profile quick release. Also I would have like to see aluminum vs. plastic which is not that sturdy. The assessory shoe is a good idea. I will have to jury rig my handle by adding an insert on the vertical part to get finger grip space
Great concept and material
Especially with the DSLR with flip-out screen, this product delivers what it says it will.
Disappointing, but still useful.
I assumed Composite Material Construction was a bragging right for stability, but all it really means is plastic. It's actually bendable, which is not helpful when you add the weight of a DSLR and a lens to the bottom arm, and a shotgun mic to the accessory shoe to the top, as suggested. If you work REALLY hard to hold it still as you move, you get a decent effect, but still not what you'll probably be hoping for, which for me was super rock solid movements. If this was made of metal, or at least a stronger plastic, it might do just that. However, mostly it wabbles when you move a little too quickly. And since their website shows cameramen chasing skaters around, I don't think it was too high an expectation. Also, the mounting system on the bottom arm does not provide enough room for my lens, even with the provided washers. So my camera (Sony A77) has to sit on one of the front three pegs, which makes the unit extremely front heavy, which causes a lot more imbalance and bounce than if it was centered better. Overall a great concept, just needed more testing and better engineering. With a 5 star rating I thought this was a slam dunk for a great and inexpensive stabilizer. Really, it will become a $$ accessory system. Which is fine. But again, disappointing. One final note. I tested this item against regular handheld movements with my camera. With the in camera stabilizing system that Sony provides, it was actually superior to the Cam Caddie.
Must Have for Small Camera
I use this grip on a Sony HDR-CX580V and it helps with stabilization a lot. What I love the most about it though is that you can easily attach a cheeseplate to it, making it convenient to have a tripod quick release attached.
Excellent design to handle a DSLR
Easy to handle when moving around with it.
Keep them coming
Straight up, this Scorpion Cam Caddie handle is excellent. I use it for skateboarding on my Canon EOS 7D DSLR camera (with a fisheye of course). It works great, the weight is distributed perfectly and it reminds me of when I used to film with a Sony DCR-VX 1000 camera. I would definitely recommend this, it's nice, it's comfortable, and it's sturdy.
Alright
It is perfect for what its for, however mounting the camera could be a pain at first. And make sure to not loose the little washers it comes with. Besides that product met expectations i had for it.
Definite stabilization of camera
Works good light weight and versatile
