Designed for quick and secure mounting, the gray Twin Windbubbles from Bubblebee Industries lowers wind noise and protects the sensitive capsule of lav mics. With a 1.57" elastic opening, this Windbubble fits lav microphones with a diameter of 5 to 9mm.
The imitation fur and mesh construction not only provides a quieter wind protection than non-fur designs, it also blends well with skin, clothing, and most other surrounding materials. The elastic wire legs make mounting easy, simplifying the process of locating the Windbubble hole opening. This Windbubble is compatible with the Sanken COS-11, Countryman EMW, DPA 4060 (with metal windscreen), Sennheiser MKE 2 (with MZW 2 windshield), ME2, ME2-US (with windscreen), and ME2-II.
The air enters the bubble for a short visit, finds it rather dull, and quickly leaves again without harming the microphone inside. So instead of the wind hammering on the microphone and making those horrible middle-of-a-hurricane sounds, the capsule is kept in a calm space and allowed to perform at its best.
