BOYA BY-WM3U Reviews
Sort of Works on Android
While this unit works flawlessly on both of my laptops, I had to devise a work-around for it to work with my Galaxy A42 5G. While the meters show that something is being recorded, I hear nothing on playback. I finally noticed that the headset icon came on as I used the mic but didn't go off even after I put the mic and receiver in the charging cradle. In desperation, I put in my earbuds and lo and behold! Sound! When I took the earbuds out, I was finally able to hear the audio on the phone's speaker. I honestly don't know where the problem lays. The sound quality, while not that of a studio mic, it is pretty good. It is not subject to the sizzling (Over driven 'S' sounds) that I got with my old headset.
Simple, easy and effective for recording
I love my Boya Wireless Microphone beacause: 1. It is really, really simple. The booklet that comes with it is easy to read and, importantly, understand how to set it up quickly. 2. It is easy to use. I have 2 canon cameras - 6Dii & 90D; GH5 & GH4 - and all can be fitted with this BOYA readily and easily. 3. I have a rode sound recorder. However, this BOYA is easily the best sound recorded. Absolutely a 5 star product!
It works but...
It works but my phone thinks it's a headset. After I record, I cannot listen directly. I have it put on ear bud's! Even then I cannot hear directly. I have to take them out of my ears and I can hear the audio. On the upside the mic works very well with my laptop. It has replaced my old headset. I gave 4 stars because I don't know which device (phone or mic) is responsible.
