Engineered for wide-field astronomy that includes viewing the moon, picking out your favorite constellations, comet hunting, satellite spotting, or watching for iridium flares, the Barska 25x100 WP Cosmos Astronomical Binoculars are an ideal companion for dark and starry nights.
Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens size that rival many beginner telescopes, the Cosmos ensure a generous field of view, comfortable eye relief, and wide exit pupil for easier viewing. The traditional Porro prism light path presents a rich depth of field, while producing a naturally balanced and comfortable feel in the hand. The chassis' ergonomic feel is complemented with textured armor to further improve grip security. Both optical tubes are nitrogen filled to be waterproof and resistant to the internal fogging that can occur when moving from the inside of a warm house to the outside into cold winter or sultry humid summer nights. Weighing in at almost nine pounds, holding them by hand is impractical, so Barska made them mountable on a wide variety of tripods, quick release plates, and heads with an integrated 1/4"-20 tripod mount.
Optical Performance
- Powerful 25x magnification allows users to enjoy views of the moon, larger planets, constellations, and bright deep sky objects
- Oversized 100mm objectives draw in the amount of light required to keep views bright and clear when using during nighttime astronomical observations
- Traditional Porro prism design produces a comfortable-to-hold and natural hand placement for a balanced grip and presents a rich depth of field when viewing terrestrial objects
- BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
- Anti-reflection fully multicoated optics maximize light transmission for improved color rendition, contrast, and clarity
- Ultra-wide apparent angle of view makes the binoculars ideal for viewing constellations, satellites, the International Space Station, and for comet/asteroid hunting
- 157-foot field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
- Individually focusing eyepieces ensure tack-sharp views, regardless of individual optical prescription
- Fold-down winged rubber eyecups mold themselves to the user's eye socket to eliminate distracting peripheral light for improved contrast and clarity
- Integrated 1/4"-20 tripod mount for hands-free use that eliminates vibrations and hand shake and prevents arm fatigue from holding itmount position is adjustable for proper balancing on the tripod head
- 15.4mm eye relief improves viewing comfort with reduced eyestrain, especially during long observation sessions
- 4mm exit pupil will cover pupils they open and dilate in the dark
