B+W MRC-Nano Master Overview
This 58mm High-Transmission MRC-Nano Master Circular Polarizer Filter from B+W helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from nonmetallic surfaces. Ambient light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges this light perpendicularly to the reflected light, resulting in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from nonmetallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.
B+W's Master filter line products are equipped with the exclusive MRC nano premium coating technology. This high-quality broadband coating is applied on both sides and enhances the optical imaging properties, to achieve a uniform and increased transmittance across the entire light spectrum, with minimal physically induced remaining reflection. The nano all-round protection on the filter glass ensures increased scratch resistance as well as extremely easy and fast cleaning.
- Reduces reflections and glare

B+W MRC-Nano Master Reviews
My favourite brand. I've been using B+W forever...
My favourite brand. I've been using B+W forever and I have never had any problem. The quality is much better than other products which comes with a bit of premium pricing but it worths every penny.
The Best
Still performs the best. Hoya does a decent job and their aluminum construction seems to be easier to turn. However B+W is easier to remove and is more durable. Their optical qualities are similar.
Excellent glass
Comparing a circular polarizer filter by Tiffen, this Circular Polarizer flares less and seems to have less of the color cast. Great glass. B+W filters now come in porches instead of plastic hard cases, which I suppose is better for the environment, but you'll probably want to get a more secure case for travel.

Another great filter from B W.
I've only been using B W filters for many years. This current line of polarizers is fantastic. I can rotate the ring with one finger which is helpful, the quality of the glass and the overall build quality is fantastic and of course the polarizing affect is as good as it could possibly be. There will always be light loss but with this filter it is minimal compared to other polarizers. Also with this Master line, even though they are thin you can still use your lens regular original lens caps. Just a hint; the B W Pro filters are so thin there isn't enough metal for a lens cap to grab on to. Big pain in the rear end. So anyway B W is consistently good. Every lens I own has both a B W UV and polarizing filter. The one small annoyance is that they no longer provide the plastic box to store the filter. They now come in a cloth bag inside the cardboard box. Now I have to find some way to protect them in my camera bag. Charge me one dollar more and provide the plastic box. Great filter, get one. Happy photographing everyone!
Top Drawer Filter...
If you must have an additional piece of glass in front of your fancy Canon L-Series lenses, B W is the only way to go in my opinion.
Excellent filter
The quality of this glass in this filter is great, and a very minimal loss of light, while still doing a wonderful job in sky enhancement and glare reduction.
Expensive but worth it
Bought this for my Nikon 105mm macro lens 2 years ago and have never regretted it. I literally never take it off. Images are clean with no weird color cast. That said, I wouldn't buy this for a cheaper lens or a lens I don't use very seriously.
