B+W Basic 010 UV Haze Overview
The UV-Haze #010 MRC Basic Filter from B+W is a 77mm filter that reduces ultraviolet light transmission, reducing the bluish case atmospheric caste when shooting outdoors. It also adds a clear layer of protection for the front element of a lens with resistance coating that repels dirt and water and protects against scratches and abrasions. The filter is made of precision German optical glass, each side featuring 7 layers of Broadband coating for high contrast pictures with minimal residual reflection and a uniform light transmission level of 99.5%.
The brass filter ring features an enhanced knurling pattern for improved grip and a special functional coating for smooth mounting and dismounting. The ring features front threads, and its low-profile design makes it suitable for use with wide-angle lenses.

Impressive quality
It feels rugged. High quality. Nice knurled edging so that I can grip it with my arthritic fingers. Just buy it, you will be happy.
Paid the extra $$
My lens came with a kit filter but I've learned to always go with B+W so paid the extra almost $200 and gave away the free one. I'm not a B+W rep but like their filters best so always go for those.
Bad Coating in Two Orders
Check your new B+W filters in front of a light source. I bought 4 filters in the past month and 2 of them have the same coating issue that you see in the picture. The coating is not consistent all over the filter. And since I saw it in two filters (43mm and 39mm) I believe this is an issue with the new batch. It's an expensive filter; not sure if B+W has any quality control these days.

Nice Filter
I bought the B+W prior models of these filter for the 2 lenses used with my Canon T3. They served be well. So when updated to the Canon SL3 and lenses, I bought these filters. The older models were no longer available new and the new models seemed to be about the same with the brass filter ring featuring an enhanced knurling pattern, which was a nice improvement (a nice touch). So far I pleased with the purchase.
