The TAA-compliant MXnet 1G Encoder/Transmitter from AVPro Edge marks the entry point to the MXnet system, where all signals, be it HDMI sources, analog audio, RS-232 and IR control data, or KVM-related signals, undergo encoding into a multicast data format stream primed for routing to any decoder endpoint within the project.

Utilizing Cat 5e (or better) wiring, fiber optic cabling, or a hybrid configuration integrating both, the MXnet 1G system seamlessly transmits content across rooms or even disparate locations, interfacing with an MXnet network switch. Capable of encoding HDMI signals up to 4K30 4:2:0, the system employs multicast IP packeting to amalgamate control data and PoE (Power over Ethernet) with the A/V signal, ensuring near-zero latency transport through the network.

Within the MXnet Ecosystem, products synergize to deliver up/down scaling for systems with mixed resolution displays, comprehensive EDID management, HDCP 2.3 compliance, and integrated video wall design, all facilitated by MENTOR: AVPro Edge�s exclusive suite of software tools for system configuration, control, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

Motion JPEG

AVoIP in the 1 Gb/s format does not have an international standardized protocol that can be considered a complete specification (unlike, for example, MPEG-2). This is one reason different manufacturers utilize various codecs, each touting their implementation as the best. AVPro Edge uses a proprietary Motion JPEG codec based on their Imaging Science Foundation experience and the parameters required to produce superb image fidelity for AVoIP. The codec AVPro Edge engineers developed and implemented in MXnet 1G focuses on having encoders and decoders produce the best picture quality for AVoIP 1G.

Genlock Support

Genlock is a professional video technology that synchronizes the video output signal from one source to all devices receiving that signal. Genlock prevents artifacts when switching sources, an essential feature for video walls and areas where multiple displays are observable and exhibiting the same image.

Data Window

A front-facing built-in mini-OLED screen on MXnet 1G encoders displays vital setup and troubleshooting information, such as IP and MAC addresses, or twelve-character custom source names using MXnet MENTOR.

Encoder External Illumination Control

The mini-OLED and various LEDs on the encoder chassis provide important status information, however, discrete operation may be more preferable. In those cases, the MXnet MENTOR can be easily adjusted, so that no light is outputted by the encoder.

Control-Signal Routing

RS-232 and IR control-signals may be routed via an AC-MXNET-1G-E encoder. Routes are plotted through a network switch via MXnet MENTOR with paths directed to MXnet 1G decoders and subsequently passed through to connected devices.

USB & KVM Support

Encoders feature USB-B host connections, enabling keyboard/mouse connection and routing to an upstream decoder. MXnet MENTOR software specifies which encoder will serve as the host and the USB device connected to the designated decoder.

Netgear Support

MXnet and Netgear engineers have collaborated to ensure Netgear switches are capable of supporting MXnet encoder and decoder operations. The "AVPro Edge Profile" loaded into a designated Netgear switch, enabling seamless compatibility between products.
