The HDBaseT Weatherproof Extender Kit from AVPro Edge implements an in-house nano-technology conformal coating process that shields against liquid damage, dust, humidity, bacteria, and corrosion by enveloping electronic components with an ultra-thin layer, ranging from tens to hundreds of nanometers in thickness and penetrating even the smallest crevices. With an IP68 rating, indicating high moisture resistance just shy of full immersion, the resulting barrier provides comprehensive defense against moisture, including harsh salt-air conditions. The coating exhibits non-stick properties, repelling various foreign substances, while also offering antibacterial qualities and aiding in corrosion-prevention.

The unit boasts a virtually lossless high-bandwidth 4K HDR signal with support for all signals up to 18Gb/s. Deep Color and HDR Metadata remain intact, making the transmission free of artifacts like banding. A scaling circuit is built into the transmitter for scaling from a 4K (and HDR) signal to 1080p one. A common application for this is when you have a 4K distribution and you have one or two displays that are older. You can use the extender to scale down where you need to and not have to reduce the entire system.
