Great for recording in untreated rooms, the Auray RF-5P-R Five-Panel Reflection Filter isolates your microphone from its surrounding environment to minimize distracting noises and diffuse unwanted acoustic reflections. The five, multilayered panels with perforations and high-density acoustic foam combine to absorb ambient noise without adding coloration to your sound, enhancing the clarity and presence of your voice for professional-sounding podcasts, voiceovers, and vocal recordings at home or in the studio.
The RF-5P-R is compatible with most microphone stands and it has integrated feet for standalone desktop recording. A sliding bracket allows you to mount any condenser, dynamic, or USB microphone and easily adjust the depth of the mic's position inside the filter for precise placement. The panels are made of sturdy, yet lightweight plastic and fold up to a tight ring for convenient storage and travel.

Works perfectly, well-made and is very versatile
This is a fantastic product. Perfect for voice-over work, recording voices, recording singing, podcasts etc... Made a big difference in improving my sound. Removes ambient noise really well and also eliminates echo in the room from bare walls. This portable reflection filter also makes it super easy to bring on location and record voices. Needing to record a VO in the field happens all the time, so this mini recording booth is extremely necessary and helpful. The set-up is extremely fast and the build quality is very good. The acoustic foam padding is well made and feels like it will last a long time. Some foam products just feel cheap, and you know will disintegrate after time, but not this one. Again, the materials seem durable and of good quality. And I love how versatile it is in its set-up. The five panels can be adjusted in a variety of ways and allow for different set-ups and equipment. I mounted a mic on the provided bracket, but also used an arm that reached over the top of the panel, and it worked well with both set-ups. Having the top panels that fold down is also a nice addition, you can fold them down to surround the mic in a little cave which helps to remove any noise from above like an air vent. You can also extend them vertically to make the side walls taller. That is cool. And when in position, they hold well and lock in place, there is no fear of them collapsing . It's well designed. The mic mounting bracket works well and it comes with a 5/8-27 to 3/8-16 thread adapter if necessary, so it should hold most Microphone stands/set ups. I also love the look of this product. The black with red accents looks fantastic and stylish. I can see clients being impressed when you pull this out on location. Very professional look. I have not tried to mount it to a mic stand for recording while the talent is standing up yet, but I can see me doing that in the future too. This thing is great. Perfect solution for my on location needs!
The Auray RF-5P-R is the perfect and convenient solution for my needs. I have a dedicated studio for sound but sometimes, clients are unable to go to my facility. Sometimes audio recordings such as narrations or voiceovers must be done at the client's office or facility, and this is where the Auray RF-5P-R is a lifesaver. I did a number of tests with the acoustics with this product in different ways, by speaking, shouting and also clapping right on the mic to see what the room reverb is doing. At my photography studio, which I'm going to use this product often, the studio's walls, floors and ceilings are a "reverb galore", sound bounces all over and has standing wave issues, being the worst place for audio, which I also do quick commercials for the other neighbor stores here. Sometimes the talent have to come here and do the audio recording right here. Again, a life saver and a quick, light and portable solution! The RF-5P-R worked very well, making the audio recording much better. You can even fit a full size Pop Filter inside the unit! This is needed especially when utilizing large diagram studio condenser mics. You can adjust this unit in many ways. For that extra "dry audio" since it's so easy to add extra props because everything is already set on a stand, I utilized a blanket behind, and sometimes over the top, covering my head, the top and bottom of the unit as well. I did the same tests again as described prior, even with the extra added blanket, it almost wasn't necessary as the RF-5P-R itself took care of most acoustic issues even though there is nothing acoustic at the bottom, only the sides and front. The 3 layers of acoustic materials that are built into the unit, they do the job just fine. Don't expect any item of this type to replace a sound booth. This is designed to help with acoustics when you don't have another way available to treat audio reflection issues. It comes included with everything you need, 5/8-27 to 3/8-16 Mic-Stand Adapter It also features a Three-Position Fold-Down Top Panels. When adjusting the top panel tabs, it clicks a bit loud. I was looking to see if there were some release buttons I had to press, or if I was doing anything wrong but no, that loud click sound is normal as you adjust. The only single thing I didn't like is that the "L" metal bracket part that mounts the unit on the stand is a bit fragile and thin. The metal bracket can bend easily if you're not careful of if applying down pressure when setting up. If it happens to be slightly bent, you can easily unbend. It's just something to know... But can I really complain about that? The price of this unit is incredibly LOW and it works on the most important part, which is reducing reflections and ambient issues! Also, abut the price, If you look at this way...This unit costs less than 5 packs of cigarettes in NY, or comparing to a half a tank of gas on a SUV, which both will be gone in a few days where the RF-5P-R will stay to last. The unit is also very attractive, and has a hi-Tech design. My rating is 4.8 stars. Happy with it and will use it often! [I received this product in exchange for my honest review].
