With an upgraded 19" 1920 x 1080 QLED touchscreen display and 1200 cd/m² brightness, the Atomos Sumo 19" SE HDR Monitor, Recorder, and Switcher maintains the same 4K recording, monitoring, and switching capabilities of its predecessor with a sharper and brighter display. Four 12G-SDI inputs and one HDMI 2.0 input can receive video signals up to 4K60 and support live quad-channel switching. Five-channel recording captures the input feeds as well as the live switching to create one output video for efficient viewing. Genlock and LTC timecode are also supported by the HDMI 2.0 and quad-SDI connections.
The Sumo 19" SE can record in ProRes RAW and 8-bit+FRC 422 ProRes/DNxHR encoding formats. RAW, Log, PQ, and HLG outputs from various cameras or gaming consoles can be processed by the device and mapped to display 10+ stops of dynamic range HDR in real time. This makes the Sumo 19" SE ideal for monitoring in the field by the director or client. Two XLR inputs with +48V phantom power support balanced audio recording with external devices. Included desktop feet, mounting supplies, and various power supply options allow you to easily integrate the Sumo 19" SE into your studio setup.

Atomos SUMO19 SE Reviews
Updating previous review
Initially wrote a one star review for the massive orange cast to the image. Atomos reached out and sent me a calibration cable to use with our spectrometer. After calibration, it's much improved and I have no qualms with it. It performs as it should and is a great addition to our arsenal. Great picture, false color, zebras, LUTs, and all the other doodads, and I really like the ability to use this thing as a backup recorder. Yes, you have to dumb-down your 4k to 1080, but if something goes sideways, 1080 is better than 0.
Beware if using HDMI
I've used these a lot before I bought. But I just learned that you can only display more than one source (like in quad view) if they are all SDI. I wanted to be able to do this with one source HDMI. Not sure you can record HDMI and SDI sources simultaneously. Check into it first if that's important to you.
Yikes! Unforgivable Color
I wanted to believe that other reviewers reporting an orange tint just got bad units due to poor QC - I don't think so. Our unit is about 1,000k too warm - it's very noticeable. According to other reviewers color calibration can't fix the problem - we aren't waiting around to try and fix it ourselves. How does a brand like Atomos deliver a product with such inaccurate color to market? I don't expect anything close to perfection in this price range - but I do expect some semblance of accuracy. The image accuracy is much worse than some no-name brands at 1/3 the cost. Why would I ever trust an Atomos product again?
Atomos Sumo19
Beautiful picture. Very functional. Excellent value and product for the cost. Highly recommend this product.
Poor color.
The previous review is spot on regarding color accuracy. Terrible orange cast. Have used just about every brand of monitor on set (Panasonic, SmallHD, Sony, Canon, Osee, TVLogic, etc), and this Atomos Sumo 19 SE has the worst color by far. No amount of tweaking in the menus corrects the orange cast. I planned to purchase one of the few supported calibrators and proprietary Atomos cables in the hope of achieving more accurate color reproduction, but based off the mentioned review below and his experience of doing so without success, I may hold off on that. Unfortunately, I now reserve this monitor solely for basic viewing and outdoor use, and not for any color-critical application. I wasn't expecting exceptional 10 bit reference grade quality out of a $2k monitor, but this color is simply poor. I will think twice before purchasing another Atomos product.
Orange, Orange, ORANGE!!!
Atomos has goofed on this one. I have several slightly older (circa 2020) Sumo19 and Sumo19M versions of this monitor and they are great and all match perfectly with each other and with other professional monitors. But this new SE model is SUPER orange ...basically balanced to tungsten color temp, with no way to adjust it out. I have now tried THREE different Sumo SE monitors (2 from and one from a totally different seller) and all have been super orange to the point where even inexperienced clients immediately say why is this so orange? I don't know if it's a new look Atomos is trying out, or if the quality control has just gone terribly bad, but this is unfortunately unacceptable for a professional monitor (and even would be for a cheap consumer one) . I even tried the $70 Atomos calibration cable paired with the X-Rite calibration sensor/software (which is sanctioned by Atomos), and still no luck. Had to return all 3 monitors (thankfully great return service from ). I hate to say this, but I'll probably have to switch to a different company until Atomos gets this issue corrected. If they DO get the color issue fixed, these are otherwise great monitors.
Really good, has a lot of features, not truly color accurate
We wanted to refresh our broadcast-grade monitors so naturally to say I was excited when I saw there was a refresh of this model at NAB. For what this monitor can do, there's not much competition. The fact it can take 4 SDI's in (only one 4k feed, FYI) is fantastic. Audio speaker is a nice touch. Clients love seeing this monitor and I finally do not have to worry when they touch the screen! With that, the colors on this monitor are not great for color grading our broadcast cameras. I will have to get a different monitor for this task. But for just a general large screen production monitor with a ton of features, I'm pretty happy with it. I was going to buy a few of them but I'm happy with one.
Super Sumo
I've been looking for a larger high quality field monitor for a while and this Sumo SE ticked all the boxes. The image and build quality are superb. It offers quad view so I can see 4 cameras at one time. You can also record 4 separate streams and switching signal as well on an SSD drive. It ships with the bat wings enabling it to run on battery power in the field which is great for remote setups. The price for this 19 monitor and the quality gives you is very competitive.
