Take advantage of fast and secure cloud storage with the Lockerstor 4RS 4-Bay 1U Rackmount NAS Enclosure from Asustor. Featuring four 3.5" SATA III drive bays, the Lockerstor 4RS provides RAID 5 read and write speeds up to 591 and 565 MB/s, respectively. A 2.1 GHz Intel Atom C3538 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM ensure smooth performance and multitasking. Plus, two Gigabit and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports ensure snappy and redundant networking connections while also supporting link aggregation for enhanced performance. Three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports are also present, allowing for easy expansion. Supporting RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 6, Single and JBOD modes, this NAS enclosure can be used to serve files or back up critical data.
Stay safe thanks to 256-bit AES encryption as well as military-grade construction tested to resist drops and extreme temperatures. A 40mm cooling fan prevents overheating, and a PCIe expansion slot can be used to install an additional network card. LED indicators on the front panel allow for easy status monitoring, while a service light and Find Me utility can be used to locate your NAS in a crowded server environment. Running on ADM 3.5, the Asustor Lockerstor 4RS supports a range of apps and cloud-based storage options for easy access via a computer or iOS or Android device. This NAS enclosure is compatible with Windows Vista or later, macOS 10.6 or later, Linux, UNIX, and FreeBSD operating systems. A power cable, two Cat 5e Gigabit Ethernet cables, and hard drive screws are included.
Flexible 1U Form Factor
The thin 1U form factor brings 2.5 GbE connectivity and stable performance to your server rack. And, with four drive bays, you can easily install and expand SATA III storage. Or, use the PCIe slot to install a 10 GbE networking card, available separately.
Intel Atom C3538 and DDR4 RAM
A 2.1 GHz Intel Atom C3538 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM make for an ultra-fast, ultra-smooth file sharing experience for your office.
Enterprise-Level Performance
Two Gigabit and two 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports ensure quick and efficient access. Ports can also be combined, with link aggregation increasing performance by up to 5 Gb/s while ensuring zero downtime in the event of one port going offline.
Find Me Function and Service Light for Server Rooms
In enterprise environments, storage devices are commonly placed together in a server room. In order to allow administrators to quickly find the NAS from among many servers the Lockerstor 4RS provides a dedicated button on front panel. When this button is pressed, the LED service light on the rear panel of the NAS will light up. ASUSTOR also offers the AiMaster mobile NAS management app, which provides the exclusive Find Me function. When Find Me is activated, the system status light on the front of the NAS will flash and the system buzzer will sound, helping users to quickly find the NAS.
Expand Your Storage Space
In addition to the four drive bays, the Lockerstor 4RS also sports four USB 3.2 ports, allowing you to create a tailored storage space for both your work and entertainment needs.

Made for RAID
Use RAID storage technology to protect your data or speed up performance. This NAS enclosure supports a number of different RAID level configurations that you can choose from when creating storage volumes, including RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 6, Single, and JBOD modes. Each RAID level offers a differing degree of data protection, system performance, and storage space.
Strong Account Security
Two-step verification provides additional security for your ADM account. After configuration, in addition to your ADM account password, you will also need a phone verification code to sign in to ADM. With two-step verification, you can protect ADM account privacy and ensure data security with both a password and your personal mobile device. Please note, Windows phone users can employ the Authenticator App for verification, while Android and Blackberry users should choose Google Authenticator.
Seamless Integration
Windows Active Directory (AD) is a directory service created by Microsoft, widely used by many corporations, that allows IT administrators to centralize and manage resources over a network. This NAS enclosure allows users to access their own AD accounts after an Asustor NAS has been successfully added to a Windows AD domain. This provides simple and efficient management options for IT staff as they do not need to create new accounts for every NAS added to the domain.
Easy Management
ADM's interface provides management tools for network users and groups, allowing IT administrators to configure different folder access rights for each Windows AD user and group.
Supports Windows File Permissions
The Lockerstor 4RS provides comprehensive support for all 13 Windows ACL file permissions, allowing for close integration with AD domains and providing simplified IT management and increased productivity. According to needs, IT professionals can enable and disable Windows ACL for specific shared folders and can use ADM File Explorer or Windows Explorer to configure permissions. Configured ACL permissions can be applied to Samba, File Explorer, AFP, FTP, and WebDAV protocols, avoiding the need to configure permissions for each individual protocol and avoiding human errors that could cause access leaks. Furthermore, in order to allow files to maintain their original ACL settings after they have been moved to the NAS, ASUSTOR NAS supports the free 3rd party software FastCopy, for this unique job.
Supports Let's Encrypt
Let's Encrypt is a free, automated, and open certificate authority (CA) that provides a trusted certificate for free to anyone who owns a domain name. Certificates issued by Let's Encrypt are recognizable by all web browsers. The Certificate Manager in your Asustor NAS can directly connect to Let's Encrypt to generate a valid certificate and install it automatically. This helps you to enhance NAS security with an SSL connection in a fast and easy way at zero cost. Moreover, before the Let's Encrypt issued certificate expires, Certificate Manager can be configured to perform an automatic renewal.
Enhanced Recycle Bin
The Network Recycle Bin mechanism has been updated in ADM 2.5.2 and is now based on individual shared folders rather than storage volumes. According to their needs, users can decide whether or not to enable a Network Recycle Bin for each individual shared folder, enjoying added configuration flexibility. Files that are moved to the Recycle Bin maintain their original directory structure, allowing added convenience should users need to search for already deleted files. The simple one-click restore function will restore selected files to their original directory path while conveniently maintaining all properties and permissions settings.
Rsync
By providing block level replication, Rsync is able to offer incremental backup. Incremental backup allows for successive backup jobs to only copy data that has changed since your last backup job. Rsync is suitable for use with files and data that are always changing, letting you cut down on backup time while significantly reducing bandwidth usage.
Flexible Backup Solution
Asustor's Rsync Backup function supports two-way data transfers, incremental backup, encrypted backup, and regularly scheduled backup jobs. Simplifying data backup and reducing the burden on IT staff, the Rsync backup function may be used to transfer or backup data from your NAS to a compatible server or initiate downloads from a compatible server to your NAS.
