Still The Best.
I am extremely happy with my purchase. The price that I paid was much less than the price of other routers with less options. This router has everything I wanted from security to parental controls and an off-line time schedule.
Maybe it is just my bad luck.
It gets hacked to easy. Or either the person hacking me is just plain better than me. I enabled ALL the AI security features. I changed to a very very secure password. The event log showed him/her still getting in. I renamed and hid the router. He/She knew by then it the type of router and just kept sending a repeating signal to shut down the wi-fi. I gave up. I ordered a spectrum router and the problem was solved maybe. For the moment, my devices are functioning. There are about a 100 spectrum routers at my apartment complex. Maybe I am hiding safely in the crowd.

Solid router for most household needs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ASUS RT-AX1800S is a solid router for most household's needs. It is also very affordable, which is a great bonus! It offers both a 2.4ghz and a 5ghz bands, which is great for homes with a lot of smart devices (they tend to require the 2.4ghz band). The signal for that band is also pretty strong, able to hit areas throughout my house without much trouble. The 5ghz does well for streaming, as long as the router is near your device. I lose connectivity pretty quickly if I am on my back porch, or if I am in a room furthest away from my router. The signal is great in the same room as the router, but it's not as practical for my needs. It also includes 4 lan ports in the back - we have several PCs and a server in our room with the router, so being able to connect all of them directly into the router is great. The connection via the ports have worked well. Overall, I think this is a good router for the price and needs for most people. It is not the best for our specific household needs, but for the price and ease of use, it remains a solid option.
