Indispensable if you do audio for long periods
I have an Arco AS-A10G Small Bag for Audio Field Recorder, and this harness is much better than the neck strap the Arco bag comes with. When I go on my own shoot, in front of my clients, or freelancing for other companies and their clients, the aesthetics, that clean look and neatness, to me, is important. This harness should fit most people, but I'm on the skinny side and the harness still fits me perfectly. To fit me, I have to max out the shrink on this. What I meant by that clean look, is that, a lot of excess belts would be hanging out all over the place, but thanks to the way they designed this harness, I can easily tuck everything in and make the excess material mess disappear. (see my pictures) The harness feels very comfortable. I'm a Steadicam operator, I'm used to harnesses and this harness fits snugly, which is an important factor when you're either following the actor with the Boom pole, plus harness and bag during a take, or even running. CONS: the carabiners on the green part is solid, but the springed silver clip part plays a little when inserting, but once they are in, its fine and secure and WILL NOT disconnect or break. Also, the 2 bottom carabiners that are supposed to hold the bag, they don't quite reach the bag hoop tightly. It floats around... Only the top 2 main carabiners will grab the bag and it allows the bag to be in the correct angle to access my recorder's knobs. But I find that I don't even need to secure the bag using the 2 bottom carabiners, as gravity pulls the bag down enough anyways by just utilizing 2 carabiners, but I use all 4 anyway.. The thing is...If you give this harness to another operator to use, then back to you using it, it will take some time to re adjust everything, therefore, that's not happening, unless he or she don't modify my adjustments, then, I'll let them use. Overall: The harness is comfortable, and affordable, it looks clean and eliminates fatigue. The only cons again, are the carabiners, the way the 2 bottom ones are placed / located and a little play while inserting into the bag's hoop. Other than that, I'm very happy with this item. Comfortable to wear and well built
I have this harness to work with the Arco AS-A10G mixer bag. Works as advertised. Build quality is good. Like the audio bag from Arco, this harness seem strong and well made. Has multiple places to adjust the straps to your desired feel and shape. And the clips seem rugged/strong. I do not have the audio bag tricked out yet with all the gear (still need to get some things), but from my tests, it felt very comfortable to use this harness with the bag. Distributes the weight really well and I can see this being vital for a long shoot or run and gun situation. I also like how the color scheme matches the bag for an expensive/professional look. Also, I love that it comes with a supplied storage bag. This might sound silly, but being able to store it away when not in use is very convenient and helpful. In my experience, having a case also tends to enable gear to last longer as it saves on wear and tear on the actual item. So I�m happy this came with one. It's pretty good, has some design issues
The Adjustable Harness worked well and seems to be well-made in terms of materials. There are some design flaws that make it frustrating to get right in the field. The waist belt cinch-straps are connected on the other end to the bag straps, which I think is this harness�s main fault. I wanted to adjust my waist strap, but it effectively changed the adjustment of the lower bag straps simultaneously. But, once I got things situated, it was pretty comfortable. The carabiners are garbage. I would immediately get new �biners that are your preferred mechanism than to use the included ones that don�t seat properly. They just seem lightweight and cheap, but that�s ultimately an easy, although not cheap, fix. They�d get the job done, but again, too much fumbling compared to a good set of carabiners. The Viviana VHGs would be an even better choice than a standard carabiner here. If you can get the harness configured ahead of time and never change it, it would work well, if you use different bags at different heights, you might get frustrated with the design of the straps. I'm still figuring out the best combination of cinch for all points. I received this product in exchange for my honest review.
Nice harness for all day use
The Arco Adjustable Harness for the AS A10G recorder bag is a great addition when you know you are going to have a long day. The material is high quality and feels durable. Everything is adjustable with this harness so you can get it just the way you want it. It's also lightweight and balances out the weight of the bag perfectly. It is a pretty big upgrade over the strap that comes with the field recorder bag. I like it and I'm sure my future sound people are really going to appreciate it. The strap is really confortable and seems like a good and easy to wash material useful for long shooting journeys or a hard to walk location.
