Angelbird 2TB CFexpress Type B Reviews
Large Enough for Video Fast enough for stills
Mk2 CFexpress from angelbird has been one of the best purchases made for my Nikon Z9. For Hybrid shooting, it clears my short burst and offers one hour of 4k video. My only issue has been the second slot on the Z9 appears to be a little snug for the card.
for my nikon z9
works great on my 8k60fps on my nikon z9
No Complaints
I have only had a chance to test it for recording N-log raw 8K @24p for 30 minutes with my Z9. No issues whatsoever. I had a question for support and they replied within one day. Just excellent.
Good value for speed and size of card
Using this card in a Nikon Z9. So far it is working great and seems to copy over to my computer quickly, but I have not tested the speed. I usually use Sandisk cards since they have been super reliable for me. So I had been using a Sandisk Extreme Pro 128GB CF Express card in my Z9 with no issues but needed more space. The Angelbird card seems faster and allows roughly 10-15 more shots before the buffer fills. One reviewer commented they could shoot indefinitely at 20fps. I could not. After approx 65-70 shots, the buffer fills and slows the camera down a bit. It seems like 10fps so still very good. You can continue to shoot seemingly indefinitely at this rate (but I did not shoot until the card filled to test it). However, if you let off the shutter button for a brief second or so, the buffer quickly empties and you can shoot another burst at 20fps. So in practice it works great since I am rarely holding the shutter down for more than 2-3 seconds without a brief pause anyway. Overall I am very happy with the size, speed and cost. But I bought it on sale (130 off) so maybe not as good of a value at full price.
good deal
I have 2 of them, RAW and other formats on EOS R5C works fine.
Faulty formatting
These cards are fast. I use them Nikon z9 at 8k they work for that without creating overheating errors. But they fault a lot in formatting. I've had to send quite a few cards back for replacement. I would be very cautious about buying these products as a consumer.
Ran into problems w/Nikon Z9
I purchased two 1TB cards for my Nikon Z9. My Z9 was set to shoot redundant so both cards slots have identical images & video. The second card suddenly stopped working. Could neither read nor write to the card, nor format it, nor view or transfer images from a CFExpress card reader. Luckily one card had all of my work on it but did exchange the card without any fuss. Hopefully it was just a bad card and not a systemic issue when working with Nikon mirrorless. I have several bodies and the Z7II, Z7 or Z6 could not read the card either.
Had to send mine back
Faltered with my first use. Wasn't recognized by my camera or computer. B & H was gracious to refund my money after I sent it back!
