ANALOG DEVICES LT1374IS8-5#PBF DC-DC Switching Buck Regulator, Fixed, 5 to 25V in, 5V / 4.5A Out, NSOIC-8

LT1374IS8-5#PBF is a 500KHz monolithic buck-mode switching regulator. It features a 4.5A switch integrated on the die, along with all necessary oscillator, control, and logic circuitry. The high switching frequency allows for a considerable reduction in the size of external components. Its topology operates in current mode, ensuring fast transient response and good loop stability. Special high-speed bipolar process and innovative design techniques achieve high efficiency at the high switching frequency. Efficiency is maintained over a wide output current range by utilizing the output to bias the circuitry and employing a supply boost capacitor to saturate the power switch. Full cycle-by-cycle short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown are provided. Applications include portable computers, battery-powered systems, battery chargers, and distributed power.

• Shutdown supply current is 20µA typical at (active-low VSHDN = 0V, VIN ? 25V, VSW = 0V, VC open)
• 500KHz typical switch frequency at (VC set to give 50% duty cycle)
• Switch current limit is 6A typical at (VC open, VFB = 2.1V or VSENSE = 4.4V, DC ? 50%)
• Error amplifier source current is 225µA typical at (VFB = 2.1V or VSENSE = 4.4V)
• Boost current is 20mA typical at (SW = 1A, TJ = 25°C)
• Feedback input bias current is 0.5µA typical at (TJ = 25°C)
• Operating junction temperature range from -40°C to 125°C, 8-lead plastic SO package
