Alfa Case 10046BTLB Overview
The Alfa BoomTube Lockable Carrying Case (Black) is a lightweight, rigid ABS plastic case made to carry a collapsed $(Size), internally cabled, carbon-fiber or aluminum boom pole. It also includes a lid retaining cord and an adjustable carry strap. The twist-lock, draw-latch on the top of the case prevents intrusion of dust, dirt and moisture commonly associated with location film and broadcast work.

Boom Pole Holder too small
I own K Tek 150 carbon booms internally wired right angle XLR. Although the K Tek fits into the tube, the mic side XLR plugs jams in the tube making extraction very difficult.
Protect Your Investment!
After upgrading to a K-Tec carbon fiber boom pole, I felt I needed to protect it in the rough environment of independent film production. This case certainly does the trick. It has a very secure locking top and you can add a padlock to it if you deem it necessary. (I have been on sets where thieves came specifically for the sound equipment!) The K-Tec pole I bought just fits the diameter of the case. Make sure the XLR pigtail does not end up adjacent to the shaft. It could get stuck. Instead, just wind the pigtail on top or the pole.
Protect your BOOM!
I think this is the only boom pole protection that exists. and its a must. don't just throw your $boom in the back of the truck. Boom Tube it! Lower the boom in and leave the wire at the top so it doesn't stick in the tube. Also don't huff the tube - it's made from ABS and has a strong odor. Goes away in time.
