3 Legged Thing ZAYLA Overview
The copper ZAYLA L-Bracket for Nikon Z 50 from 3 Legged Thing is specifically designed for this camera, mounting to the camera via its 1/4"-20 threaded camera mount. It is milled from a single block of aluminum for its durability and strength. The L-bracket allows you to mount your camera in a horizontal or vertical mode into a compatible Arca-type clamp or head. The bracket's anti-twist locator tabs hug the sides of the body to prevent the camera from moving while mounted to the base.
The vertical component of the bracket is machined to maintain access to the memory card, battery compartment, and camera's side ports. The front and rear of the base have also been cut, so your finger can gain access to the lens release button or to lift the tilting rear LCD screen. To mount a hand or shoulder strap, you have several options with the three 1/4"-20 sockets or the integrated side strap loop.

Nifty little L-bracket
This bracket is a nice fit for the Z50. As intended, it provides a quick way to switch the camera between landscape and portrait orientations on a tripod. It adds negligible weight in keeping with the Z50 as a small, light piece of gear. BUT, you can't mount the FTZ adapter onto the camera with Zayla attached. If you use a lot of F-mount glass and you want an L-bracket on the camera, you will be attaching and detaching Zayla as you switch between F-mount and Z-mount lenses. Definitely a pain.

Hack to use with FTZ adapter
If you want to easily use the FTZ adapter with this just unscrew the 4 little screws at the bottom of the FTZ adapter and leave that plastic piece off. It'll reduce moisture and dust resistance but for my uses this will work fine since I only use this adapter for one lens and that lens has its own foot. If you need that plastic plate left on, then take that plate off and sand it down and it should fit fine after that. You CANNOT mount to a tripod though in landscape, only portrait, but at least you can take the FTZ on/off easily with this method. Side note, I cannot believe this Z50 has 99% of the functions my Z7 has! It's like a perfect little companion and can't believe how underrated it is. I would suggest everyone get the Z50 as their first mirrorless or as a small and portable sidekick.
Very good value
It is small, light and does its job. It was on sale when I bought it so its value to me is great! Does the exact same job as an expensive brand name. No need to spend extra money without additional value!
Great for use with Z lenses
I think this bracket is worth the price for what it does, which is work beautifully with Z lenses, but is not compatible with the FTZ adapter. I wish 3LT had finessed the horizontal part of the bracket so that it doesn't bind against mounted FTZ, which mine does enough that the bracket cannot lay flush against the camera. Too bad, because I did find less than ideal ways to attach the bracket to my Arca-Stye tripod head with the FTZ attached, but it's a no-go because of the binding issue. A separate bracket for use the FTZ perhaps?

Fits the Z50 perfectly. Beats using a pan head to switch between horizontal and vertical.
