Celebrating 70 years of audio innovation, the VRDS-701T features TEAC's vibration-free rigid disc-clamping system (VRDS) to optimize disc stability and improve sound quality. This is a system designed to do one thing, play CDs perfectly. The digital optical and coaxial outputs work best when connected to a high-quality DAC and the VRDS-701T is designed to pair superbly with TEAC's UD-701N DAC preamp for audiophile level playback.

Vibration-Free Rigid Disc-Clamping System (VRDS)

The pinnacle in CD transport technology, this single-well CD Transport utilizes a VRDS derived from TEAC�s flagship HiFi line, Esoteric. By eliminating the DAC function in this model, the internal circuitry has been optimized for larger componentry and enhanced digital output.

This TEAC-original CD drive mechanism reduces rotation vibration of the disc itself as well as unwanted mechanism vibration by clamping the CD to an aluminum turntable with the same diameter and maximizing inertial mass in order to stabilize rotation. Servo current is reduced with the turntable by correcting disc warping and distortion and improving the relative optical axis precision of the pickup and disc pit side. This realizes reduced disc reading errors and creates outstanding audio quality.

Built-In MQA Core Decoder

The VRDS-701T's core decoder can digitally output MQA-encoded CDs at 88.2 kHz, great for those seeking a powerful and refined approach to high fidelity home entertainment. When paired together with a DAC that has an MQA rendering function, playback using MQA full coding is also possible.

10 MHz External Clock Input

The 10 MHz clock input allows synchronization with an external clock. In addition to improving audio quality during playback with the VRDS-701T, this also enables synchronization of the entire system with a clock generator.

Internal High-Precision Dual Clock

This player ensures accurate timing and synchronization with dual onboard clocks for 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz frequencies.

Thorough Design for Vibration Control

The entire CD mechanism is mounted on the sub-chassis in a semi-floating state to control the transmission of vibrations between the CD mechanism and the chassis as well as from the external environment. Power transformers, which tend to generate vibration, are also mounted on a floating structure to reduce such occurrences. As if that weren't enough, side fins for heat dissipation have been tailored, so that each one has a different length in order to eliminate sympathetic vibrations too.

Integration Friendly

RS-232C is present for integration with popular control systems, and trigger input and output connectors enable power coordination with other devices.
