Bundled with cables for use with cameras and mobile devices, the Synco Mic-M1S ultracompact camera-mount shotgun microphone delivers improved directionality compared to your device's built-in mic for better capture of your subjects during run-and-gun shoots and for vlogs and mobile journalism projects.
Since it runs on plug-in power and features no controls to configure, the Mic-M1S provides simple plug-and-play operation with no batteries or phantom power required. Two detachable 3.5mm cables are included�one TRS cable for use with cameras and one TRRS cable for connection to a smartphone or tablet.
Unlike the camera or phone's built-in mic, the electret condenser capsule's cardioid polar pattern tends to reject sound coming from the back and sides to yield a stronger focus on sources in front of the microphone. The supplied 4-ring shockmount attaches to the shoe mount of your camera and mitigates the transfer of vibration and camera handling noise. A 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom allows you to attach to the mic to tripods, boompoles, and stands. A furry windshield is included to reduce wind noise and a carry bag is supplied for storage and transport.
Measuring just 2.8" long, the Mic-M1S can be added to your shooting rig without getting in the way. Since it weighs just 1.2 oz, you'll hardly notice its presence, even when using point-and-shoot cameras.
Most mics built into cameras and mobile devices pick up sound from all directions, but the Mic-M1S utilizes a cardioid polar pattern to deliver front-facing directionality while attenuating sound entering from the sides and rear, capturing more of your subject and less ambient noise.
Easy Connectivity with Cameras and Mobile Devices
The Mic-M1 is designed for compatibility with an array of devices. It includes a detachable 3.5mm TRS cable for hookup to your camera, DSLR, or portable audio recorder and a detachable 3.5mm TRRS cable for connection to a smartphone or tablet.
No Batteries or Phantom Power Required
Don't worry about keeping a stash of batteries or having to use devices that supply phantom power. The Mic-M1S runs on plug-in power from your camera or mobile device, so you can just connect the mic and start recording.
Shockmount Enhances Isolation
The removable 4-ring shockmount conveniently attaches to the shoe mount of your camera, isolating the mic from vibrations and camera handling noise to give you a cleaner audio signal. A 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom allows for additional mounting options.
Furry Windshield Included
The Mic-M1S is supplied with furry windshield to provide wind noise attenuation when shooting indoors or outside.
