SYMPLY SYPRO-DT3L8H1B-A0 Overview
The SymplyPRO LTO-8 Half-Height Desktop Tape Drive from SYMPLY features an LTO-8 half-height tape drive connected via a Thunderbolt 3 port as a convenient connection to your desktop Windows, Mac, or Linux system. It also features a second Thunderbolt 3 port capable of daisy chaining and providing up to 60W of charging power, plus an SFF-8644 SAS host port and SFF-8644 SAS expansion port. LTO-8 media supports a native storage capacity of up to 12TB and data transfers of up to 300 MB/s, or, when using 2.5:1 compression, a storage capacity of up to 30TB and data transfers of up to 500 MB/s.
This drive is backward compatible with LTO-7 media which supports a native storage capacity of up to 6TB and a compressed capacity of up to 15TB. Using Apple's MMEL2ZM/A adapter, Thunderbolt 2 host ports are supported.

Symply CableLess
All dual drive rackmount designs from Symply feature Symply CableLess technology - a unique design that allows for the easy removal of LTO drives, making them highly serviceable and easy to upgrade. So, you can start with one LTO in your rackmount system and add an additional drive in a matter of seconds, without even having to power the system off. Likewise for servicing, if in the unlikely event of a drive failure, the failed drive can be removed without the need to power off the whole system, and only the failed drive needs to be returned for repair. Simple, as you might expect.
