Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Overview
A fast telephoto prime, the Nikon F-mount 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM from Sigma pairs bright and sophisticated optics with intuitive handling and design. As part of the Art line of lenses, this 135mm f/1.8 is designed for high-resolution rendering, and utilizes FLD and SLD glass to control chromatic aberrations and color fringing for notable clarity. A Super Multi-Layer Coating also enhances image quality by suppressing lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity in strong lighting conditions. Additionally, making it an ideal lens for portraiture, the bright f/1.8 maximum aperture pairs with a rounded nine-blade diaphragm to benefit selective focus and shallow depth of field imaging with smooth bokeh.
Complementing the imaging capabilities, the lens sports a Hyper Sonic Motor to produce quick, smooth, and quiet autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override. The physical design utilizes Thermally Stable Composite material for durability in a wide range of environments, and a brass bayonet mount also offers rigidity and mounting precision.

Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Reviews
It's a Beautiful Lens
Using it with my FX6. Loving it!
Third Sigma Prime in my kit
This completes my collection of prime lenses. 20mm, 35mm, 85mm and 135mm. The last three are all Sigma art lenses. I love it so far. I have been shooting 135mm with an old canon screw mount, so I decided to upgrade. I'll use this for portrait and landscape. I like this focal length for landscape when the subject is far off or when I have a subject aligned with the moon or setting sun. it is a very sharp lens and obviously full of bokeh when open. The depth of field is terrifying! My only complaint is that it doesn't have an aperture ring. One of the things I like about old manual lenses is the depth of field scale. The focus distance is replicated in-camera so I don't find the feature very useful. Not sure why modern cameras can't calculate DOF and display it for you. It's a heavy lens too but it's a keeper and it was on sale for $300 off so after looking for a while I made up my mind to jump on it.
Great Lens
Very sharp, but yet really pleasing for portrait work. Especially at wider apertures. More money than the Canon 135mm f/2, but worth it IMO.
Phenomenal portraits!
By far the BEST prime I have ever used. I kept renting this lens to do portraits as favors to family and friends, as I am really just a landscape and abstract art photographer. I immediately became obsessed and kept renting it for other things as well. I waited for a few months for to have it back in stock and jumped on it as soon as it was available! Soooo worth the wait! The bokeh of the is lens, even when not all the way open is creamy and dreamy! This is my second sigma art lens I've added to my arsenal, and as much as I loved my 20, this one is truly in a class by itself! Do yourself a favor if you are a portrait photographer, and get this lens! Your clients will truly be amazed!
This lens is perfect
I have taken my best photos with the classic Canon 70-200. This lens matches its perfection. It should renew anyone's passion for photography
Wonderful lens.
In field testing, the lens performed wonderfully. I was impressed with the lens, and the clarity of the images it produces.
Excellent Sigma Art Lens
Sigma has designed a fantastic lens. Once I mounted this lens I couldn't wait to use it. The bokeh is beautiful and razor sharp elsewhere in the frame. I'm really glad I bought this lens, rendering is fantastic.
Love this lens!
Perfect lens for the creative artist. Super sharp. The build and image quality are exceptional. My absolute favorite prime lens by far.
