Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Series II Overview
Mixing advanced optics and sophisticated handling, the Canon EF-M-mount Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Series II Lens is an ultra-wide-angle prime that is especially well-suited to astrophotography, architecture, and landscape shooting applications. Featuring a 14 elements, 10 groups optical design, this lens utilizes a series of aspherical, low dispersion, and high refractive index elements to reduce color fringing, aberrations, and distortions for sharp, clear, and color accurate imagery. An Ultra Multi-Coating is also featured, as well as a built-in petal-shaped lens hood, to suppress lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast when working in bright, direct lighting conditions. Complementing the imaging assets, manual focus operation, with an internal focusing design, is employed that permits working with subjects as close as 11" away, and the metal housing is weather-sealed to permit working in inclement conditions. Additionally, a focus lock ring permits securing the focusing position to prevent accidental changes and the aperture ring can also be de-clicked to better suit video applications.

Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Series II Reviews
Coma Coma Coma
I might've gotten a fluke but my copy had very bad coma on stars, even on the dead center which is a problem I've never had on my old version of this lens. Focusing to infinity will not get you sharp stars, as a matter of fact coma might be the reason why focusing on stars is such a pain (at least on my copy). This was returned and I'm expecting a replacement unit to find out whether it is a keeper or just move over to the big boy lens section but at this moment it seems it is out of stock...
Stunning
Outstanding build quality. Weather sealed, metal barrel, butter smooth focus. Stunning image quality. The only thing you give up with this lens is any electronic connection to the camera so you get no EXIF data or auto focusing. I find auto focus wide angle lenses to be pointless. The EXIF data can easily be added through the camera or at import depending on your setup so that is only a minor inconvenience. Considering the price of this lens compared to a similar AF option there really is no reason not to use this lens.
Great Lens for the Price!
I bought this to take night shots of the sky. Before this I was using a much more expensive wide-angle zoom and there was just too much blur in the corners - multiple corners. With this, there is still some blur (mainly on the upper corners) but overall it's a much more crisp image when compared to what I was using and is much lower cost. For the uploaded pics I was not using a planetary tracker so had the shutter open no more than 15 or 20 seconds to keep things crisp in the center. This is the Series II and the only difference from Series I is they added a lock ring to lock in your focus. This is a fully manual lens so it was great to set focus, lock it, then attach to the tripod or otherwise move it around, and not worry about bumping it out of focus. All in all a very solid, well built lens and a great low price.
