Proaim Polaris Overview
The Polaris Portable Camera Dolly with Universal Track Ends from Proaim is a heavy-duty camera dolly platform that rides on 16 soft polyurethane wheels that use precision, stainless steel ball bearings to perform silky smooth dolly shots. The durable aluminum dolly supports loads up to 440 lb.
The dolly wheels fit on standard speed rail, track, or pipe from 1.25" up to 2" diameter, and the wheel trucks "float", allowing the dolly to navigate straight or curved track. Two universal track ends with removable feet are included, as well as brake system to stop the dolly from moving and to prevent tipping. A center support is also included to provide additional support for heavy loads.
The platform features an integrated Mitchell mount and it includes 75mm and 100mm adapters so you can mount alternate fluid heads; a 150mm adapter is also available separately. The platform incorporates two 3/8" through-holes, two 1/4"-20 threads, and two 3/8"-16 threads for mounting accessories. A custom, heavy-duty flight case is included to fit all the dolly components.

Great dolly for the price
The slider is great but the only problem is the rolling case, if you 6ft and above you will have to bend down to roll it.
Just as good as a Dana Dolly!
Save a few bucks for the rails! (Those suckers are expensive!) I love this thing. It might as well be the same as a Dana Dolly. the only thing they really are saving you money with is the case. It's definitely works, however the Dana Dolly case feels like it will last longer. If you're debating between this and the Dana just buy this. Unless you've got cash to burn ;)
better then the the original?
So what I love about this over the regular Dana dolly is that you can bolt on the 100mm bowl and once it's bolted on you don't need the washer. And if you use the Oconnor heads that's awesome. Cause sometimes it's a pain to get the head on and this just makes it simple and quick.
JUST GET IT YOU WON'T REGRET IT
First of all, I JUST WANT TO SAY THIS DOLLY IS AMAZING!!! here are some reasons why I believe this is a great BANG FOR YOUR MONEY compared to the DANA DOLLY. 1) Price: The price is UNBEATABLE!! For $758 you get the dolly, 2 universal track ends, Which allows you to use any rails, center support, 75 nd 110mm bowl, and the Case! If you wanted to get all this with the DANA DOLLY you'd have to spend $1285 for the whole thing. With the Polaris you'd be saving an extra $500 which you can use to get the rails.. 2)Build Quality: This thing is built like a TANK!! from the moment you get it out you clearly see that Proaim did not cut any corners when it comes to the quality of this. Because of this you can put on heavier camera rigs on there 3) Smoothness of the Shot: This thing gives you smooth buttery shots! Not only do you get smooth shots you can also invert the dolly to get upside shots and be lower to the ground. The wheels are quality and they can take a heavy load. ALSO Proaim included a BUBBLE so you can always make sure that your shots and horizon are straight. DANA DOLLY DOESN'T HAVE THAT !! Now let's talk about some of the things that i wasnt a fan off. This dolly with everything in the case is heavy so you want to keep that in mind. Also the handle for the case doesn't extend all the way up so that was a bummer. but all in all these things to me personally aren't deal breakers..

A Beauty of a Product
This thing is a little heavy but it's because it's built like a tank but the wheels come in handy. I couldn't use the included 100mm half ball adapter because my head has a very short screw. (Look into that. I have the N12 Nitrogen Manfrotto) I placed the adapter ring in between and it worked fine.
Better Value Than The Competition!!
The feature set of this dolly as well as the very sturdy case makes this a much better value than some of the other name brands. It comes with everything I need. I love the feet for floor shots as well as the break to keep the dolly from sliding. Highly recommend for the price!
Beautuful peace of equipment
This dolly looks and works nice! The ball heads can be tied to the dolly, so the tripod head will stay on it firmly. The only con is the box , which is beautiful, but makes the package bigger and heavier (a smaller Pelican case would be better)
