OWC Flex 8 External HDD/SSD Overview
Ideal for taming the voracious appetite of raw, 4K, large format, and VR workflows, the OWC ThunderBay Flex 8 128TB 8-Bay RAID Array arrives preset with RAID 5 speed and protection. The ThunderBay Flex 8 sports eight drive bays that support a mix of SATA or SAS drives. Additionally, the top four bays can also support U.2 drives. One of these bays comes with a U.2 adapter housing four 4TB NVMe SSDs, while the other seven drive bays hold 16TB HDDs for a total raw capacity of 128TB.
Connect, dock, or charge devices using two Thunderbolt 3, one USB Type-C, and two USB Type-A ports. See your work in greater detail by adding up to an 8K display via a built-in DisplayPort 1.4 connection. Import hi-res images and video via front-side SD 4.0 and CFexpress card readers. And when you want to expand your desktop capabilities, there's a PCIe slot waiting for your specific project needs.
