Play backing tracks, sync video, engage in hands-on mixing, and create playlists or whole shows for killer performances with the M-Live B.BeatX, a portable media playback device for live performances. Compatible with a wide array of audio and video formats and sporting eight separate audio outputs with one HDMI output, you can set up complex shows and control them with ease.

The B.BeatX can play back and mix up to 16 mono or eight stereo audio tracks. The device can synchronize audio with video or photos, for transmission to video walls and projectors and is compatible with many formats, including MP3, MP4, WAV, MTA (multitrack audio), MIDI, MOV, and JPG files, just to name a few. Media can be stored on the internal 128 GB memory, read directly from a USB flash stick, or streamed wireless via Bluetooth. You also get one line-level stereo pair input over 1/4", one headphone output, MIDI via 5-pin DIN, and an Ethernet port. The B.BeatX can recognize click tracks and manage metronome settings for seamless live performances. Power is provided through either USB bus power or a dedicated DC input. The B.BeatX includes a power supply and Ethernet cable.

B.Beat Expansion

B.BeatX can work in sync with B.Beat and B.Beat Pro16. This means, for example, that if you use B.Beat and B.BeatX together you can build audio projects of up to 32 mono tracks (or 16 stereo) and utilize a total of 14 analog outputs. In addition, the two HDMI video outputs of the two machines allow you to have a video track and a track for the Hunchback (Prompter for Lyrics). If, on the other hand, you use B.BeatX in conjunction with B.Beat pro16, you can have up to 24 audio outputs.

Sound Card Built In

B.BeatX includes a real digital sound card for audio interface duties with 8 outputs and 2 inputs. The B.BeatX is compatible with Windows and iOS via downloadable drivers. This technology allows a digitally connected computer to channel the outputs of the various tracks of B.BeatX within a DAW environment. This function is very useful during sound check and in the rehearsal room, before transferring the backing tracks from the DAW directly to B.Beat.

Reliable Onstage

B.BeatX is designed to have maximum reliability during live executions. There is a special button on the Live panel that can be used the moment the show starts?from that moment, the processor of B.Beat will be committed to maximum performance without wasting resources. This minimizes the risk of an unintentional crash and protects the user from activating functions by mistake. B.BeatX has a Sync system, so you can use it in conjunction with auto-switch systems that prevent it from stopping, in case your computer crashes for example.

Video Output

B.BeatX has a video output, allowing it to accommodate the common setup of using a video wall to accompany musical performances. The same output can be used at will to display song lyrics as a cue card.

Sheet music can be uploaded as PDFs, and for each instrument onstage, you can have a dedicated sheet music. The sheet music can be displayed on smart devices via Bluetooth.

Organizing Performances

Create your backing tracks with your DAW and then transfer the music to your B.BeatX via the B.Beat Manager app for Windows and Mac computers. With the Manager, you will assign outputs to the various tracks, and you can further refine editing by adjusting volumes as desired. If you have synchronized a video to the music, you can upload it to B.BeatX and manage it in conjunction with the backing tracks, or you can manage videos and images untethered to the music.

Metronome and Click

B.BeatX has a dedicated Metronome session. You can very easily manage a metronome directly onstage. The audio click of the metronome can come out on one of the 8 outputs and out headphone output simultaneously, if it has been set.

The same thing happens when the click is recorded onto your backing tracks. When the click track is present in the multitrack backing tracks, it is recognized and sent to a separate output and to the headphones.

Optional Rack Panel

B.BeatX can be mounted in a convenient optional panel (sold separately) that takes up 2 RU. This makes it easy to join the B.BeatX with any other devices you might be using in your rig, for live performances.
