The sticks feature a color pattern that helps you to sync picture and audio when shooting double system sound. The sticks easily mount on standard slates, allowing you to switch boards or separate the sticks from your slate when you need to "bang" them shut to make your sync point, and there is no room for both sticks and the slate. The color pattern resolves itself when the sticks are closed, providing a visual reference to match the audio of the sticks banging shut.
