Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM Overview
Ultra-wide and stabilized, the Canon RF 14-35mm f/4 L IS USM is a uniquely versatile zoom characterize by its broad range, constant f/4 maximum aperture, and advanced optical design. Gaining a bit on the wide end, this zoom offers a broader field of view to suit landscape, nature, and architectural applications, and its modest maximum aperture also contributes to a sleek, highly portable design for walkaround shooting.
In terms of optics, the lens is befitting of its L-series designation and features three aspherical elements and three UD elements that produce a highly corrected image with high sharpness and accurate color rendering. A trio of unique coatings have also been applied to suppress flare and ghosting throughout the zoom rang. The L-series designation is also indicative of a robust physical design, and this 14-35mm is weather-sealed and features a fluorine coating on the exposed elements for further protection against trying weather conditions.
Unique among ultra-wides, this lens is also distinguished by its Optical Image Stabilizer that compensates for up to 5.5 stops of camera shake, or up to 7 stops when paired with cameras featuring IBIS. Additionally, there is also an apt Nano USM that yields fast and quiet autofocus performance and there is a minimum focusing distance of just 7.9" throughout the entire zoom range for creative wide-angle close-up shooting.

Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM Reviews
great replacement for ef 17-40
I was worried about accuracy at the at 14-15 mm end but I usually don't shoot wide open. Great focus, great color with IS. You can't be a landscape photographer without this lens.
Another Great WA Lens from Canon
I was originally going to write a scathing review of this lens. As it turns out, the issue I was having wasn't with the lens at all, it was the software I was using (Lightroom Classic). I was experiencing terrible vignetteing and barrel distortion that was especially noticeable when shooting wide. Lightroom was reading the meta data correctly but was not applying the correct profile in the develop module. Now that I've discovered that, I am totally thrilled with this lens. It is every bit as good as my EF 16-35L that this replaced. Excellent for landscapes and works great for architectural applications as well. I just can't believe I was ready to sell this lens and go back to the EF 16-35L. This lens will be going with me everywhere.
Excellent, beautiful image quality!
Excellent, beautiful image quality! The F4 feature might not help in low light situation.
Not worth the $1700 price tag!
Get the EF 16-35mm f4 instead. Don't get me wrong, this is a good lens. Nothing that will blow you away, but it's WAY overpriced. This lens should be around $1000-$1200 price range. The build quality is great, the zoom extension is short (a plus), and I really love the fact that the front glass element is fish-eyed for a 14mm. But the image quality isn't great, it isn't stabilized, and the f4 doesn't justify $1700. I wish it had a lock button for storage as I'm sure the tension will soften over time. I wish I would've picked up a used EF f2.8 version that is stabilized, faster and has similar or better quality for around $700-$1200 depending on the version. It's bigger with the adapter but more than worth it for the price difference.
A hidden gem in RF lenses
The focal length range makes it a very versatile lens.
Not worth an upgrade from the EF 16-35 f/4
The copy that I have is noticeably weaker in corner sharpness when compared to my old EF 16-35 f/4, so I don't feel the lens is worth the very high price for an additional 2mm focal length. However, not requiring an adapter does make it feel much better on the camera.
Excellent Lens
I have an RF 24-105 f/4, but sometimes it's just not wide enough. When I need more coverage, I reach for this one.
Great Lightweight Lens
I bought this lens so I could photograph the USS Alabama and the surrounding planes and military equipment while visiting Alabama. The lens allows you to shoot and get those great shots in the tightest of spots, including the submarine!
