AD1580 is a low cost, 2-terminal (shunt), precision band gap reference. The superior accuracy and stability of this is made possible by the precise matching and thermal tracking of on-chip components. Proprietary curvature correction design techniques have been used to minimize the nonlinearities in the voltage output temperature characteristics. This is stable with any value of capacitive load. However, the wide operating current range means that this is extremely versatile and suitable for use in a wide variety of high current applications. Typical applications are portable, battery-powered equipment, cellular phones, notebook computers, PDAs, GPSs and DMMs, computer workstations, suitable for use with a wide range of video RAMDACs, smart industrial transmitters, PCMCIA cards, automotive, 3V/5V, 8-bit to 12bit data converters.

- Reverse voltage temperature drift is 50ppm/°C max (-40°C to +85°C, TA=25°C, IIN=100µA)
- RMS noise voltage is 20µV rms typ (10Hz to 10KHz, TA=25°C, IIN=100µA)
- Turn-on settling time to 0.1% is 5µs typical (TA=25°C, IIN=100µA)
- Output voltage hysteresis is 80µV typical (TA=25°C, IIN=100µA)
- Initial output error is 1mV
- 3-lead SOT-23-3 package
- Temperature rating range from -40°C to +85°C
