A blanking plate is recommended if you're installing a single module into an RMK12 rackmount to provide the proper cooling airflow to your system. The outer edge of the blanking plate needs to overlap with the ears of the rack, which means that you will need to install the blanking plate before the tray, or remove the bolts on the blanked side?keeping your tray supported as you put the blanking plate in place.
