Pliant Technologies CB2-2400 Overview
The CrewCom CB2 2-Channel Intercom BaseStation from Pliant Technologies delivers the proven performance of the CrewCom platform in a compact, cost-effective system designed for small to midsized professional productions. With crystal-clear 7 kHz audio, interference-resistant 2.4 GHz RF, and seamless integration into existing wired intercom infrastructure, the CB2 system provides powerful communication tools in a user-friendly, scalable format.
User Capacity and System Scalability
- Normal Mode: supports up to six CRP-12 (2.4 GHz) or CRP-C12 (2.4 GHz) radio packs per base station. Link two CB2 units for a total of 12 full-duplex users.
- High-Density Mode: expands user support to up to 16 radio packs per base station; two linked systems can support up to 32�36 users, depending on configuration.
- System Sync & Linking: CB2 BaseStations can be synchronized to each other or to larger CrewCom systems, enabling shared RF coverage or unified audio routing.
- The CB2 system supports CRP-12 and CRP-C12 radio packs only. It is not compatible with CRP-22 or CRP-44 packs.
Wired Integration and I/O Options
- 2- and 4-wire intercom ports: standard interfaces allow seamless connection to Clear-Com, RTS, and other professional wired intercom systems.
- Auxiliary audio i/i: program audio can be injected via the Aux In, while Aux Out and Stage Announce outputs provide routing flexibility to external speakers, recorders, or paging systems.
- Stage Announce Relay: built-in relay supports external control of paging or cue lights.
Hardware and Usability
- Compact, rackmount BaseStation: 1 RU chassis with front-panel LCD, quick-access buttons, and USB ports for firmware updates and radio pack pairing.
- Front-panel monitoring: built-in headset jack and display allow direct monitoring of intercom activity and radio pack status in real time.
- Durable, lightweight radio packs: pairs with rugged, IP65-rated CRP-12 radio packs (available separately) designed for all-day comfort in demanding environments.
