Muse Kinetics SoftStep3 Overview
Take control of your setup without using your hands with the Keith McMillen SoftStep3, a USB powered MIDI foot controller that features ten footpads, each able to detect foot pressure and XY directional movements for a myriad of control possibilities.
SoftStep3 is capable of sending MIDI notes, MIDI CCs, Program Change, and more for full customization to your unique musical workflow. Use your feet to trigger the parameters of your favorite soft synths via USB or utilize the 3.5mm TRS MIDI jack, CV/Gate connector, and expression input. An optional Step Adapter Kit is available for easy integration into your studio.
- Versatile: program each pad to send MIDI Notes, CC#s, and Program Change messages using the SoftStep Editor software
- Expressive: sensors under each pad detect pressure in 3D. Map the X- Y- and Z-axis to CCs for dynamic expression of effects parameters
- TRS MIDI: connect to 5-pin MIDI hardware and synths with TRS MIDI (type A)
- CV out: send Pitch and Gate CV messages to Eurorack and modular synth rigs
- Pedal input: send MIDI CC messages from an external expression pedal
