The collar is Arca-type compatible and allows you to mount your lens for shooting on a tripod or other support solutions, creating steadier shots ideal for macro photography. The collar also allows you to rotate your camera between vertical and horizontal shooting without having to realign the rest of your setup. It has 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes on the bottom to offer wide compatibility for mounting and accessories.
