Microtech Gefell 201256 Overview
Part of Microtech Gefell's Generation 4 modular microphone system, the M 40 is a small-diaphragm cardioid condenser mic capsule made for use with MV 400 preamplifiers. Its design is refined and compact, with the lightweight polyethylene membrane providing articulation across its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response while handling high SPLs up to 146 dB and producing only 14 dBA of self-noise. The M 40's cardioid polar response picks up sound mostly from the front in a heart-shaped pattern, reducing unwanted noise from behind the mic.
