The Evno ABX acoustic bass wired microphone system is meticulously handcrafted in the USA to deliver the most accurate and natural representation of upright bass. Designed specifically for string mounting beneath the bridge, the ABX captures the full, resonant tone of the instrument while maintaining high gain before feedback?ideal for any setting, from jazz ensembles and symphony orchestras to bluegrass bands and pit orchestras. The microphone provides clear, uncolored sound reproduction that lets the listener hear the tone the player has spent a lifetime developing, even in challenging acoustic environments.
String-Mounted Design with Vibration Control
The ABX features a one-piece integrated design that mounts directly to the E and G strings using a custom clamp and stabilizer system. This mounting configuration allows for precise mic placement and easy adjustment without needing tools. A 5.5" flex-stay gooseneck holds the microphone firmly in place. To combat handling noise and low-frequency vibration, the system includes a vibration damping plate and Evno's 7-point suspension ring, reducing unwanted movement and ensuring consistent performance.
Wired or Wireless Compatible
The ABX system includes the PS95 preamp and power supply for standard phantom-powered wired operation. It ships with a detachable cable compatible with both the PS95 and Shure wireless transmitters. The mic body terminates in a 3-pin mini XLR and is compatible with wireless systems from Evno, Shure, AKG, Sennheiser, and McCormick (adapter cables for some systems sold separately or available in bundle packages). Though most acoustic bass players use the mic in a wired setup, the system's wireless compatibility offers flexibility for performances requiring movement or quick instrument changes.
