Matthews Shotbags come in a variety of shapes and weights. They are used for securing the bases of light stands and set walls. Many have handles, for hanging on hooks or risers. Some have two wings, to allow draping over light stand legs.
Most are cordura nylon, some are vinyl covered and waterproof.
Some models of sandbags are shipped empty, for convenience and economy. They can be filled with sand, or any type of weight you provide, and emptied for storage, or transport.

Great, just pricey
Solid bag, has held up to lots of use. -1 for being expensive, might transition to filling my own in the future if I need more.
Best way to go
solid bag.. way better than sand!
Not 25 lbs.
Purchased 6 bags. 3 bags weighed in at 24.4 lbs each. 3 bags weighed in at 27.4 lbs each. Two huge benefits of steel shot - 1. Bag size is significantly smaller than an equal weight sandbag making it much easier to handle and place on a stand. 2. No fill material leaking from the bag. A sewn in metal ring for boom attachments would improve it.
Too Heavy
I was hoping Matthews had found a way to make these lighter. Jk these are dope. Very compact compared to sand and no leaks.

These bags will surprise you with how much is packed into such a small package. If you have ever used traditional sandbags, these look like a 10-15lb bag. They are extremely well built, can be used anywhere a sandbag can, and fit great on smaller stands or in tight places. I love them.
