The kit includes the Mirage matte box, a top flag, a motorized VND module, a circular filter tray, a motor adapter, a 95mm clamp-on filter adapter, a rubber matte box hood, four adapter rings, and a carry case.

The lightweight matte box can easily mount onto your camera, drone, or gimbal rig to provide light control and add a filter system with optional motorized VND operation. The matte box allows you to add optional circular filters to the front of your lens while allowing the addition of 4 x 5.65" filters on the front of the matte box. The removable rubber hood also allows you to add a single 4 x 5.65" filter, while the clamp on filter adapter allows you to add a single 95mm filter to your lens, with or without the matte box.

Tilta Mirage VND Kit with Mirage Matte Box

Built rugged for daily use on your camera rig yet lightweight for handheld, gimbal, stabilizer, or drone work, the Tilta Mirage VND Kit with Mirage Matte Box is a modular component system that clips onto 95mm OD lenses. The included variable ND system allows you to precisely adjust the ND effect from 1 to 9 stops when needed. The matte box weighs about the same as a standard 4 x 5.65" glass filter, and it accepts Tilta's 95mm round filters with the included filter adapter. The modular design means you can configure the matte box to match your needs on a shot-by-shot basis.

The included rigid hood and removable top flag aid in cutting glare and protecting your image from overhead flares. Four included lens adapters enable mounting the Mirage Matte Box on lenses with 67, 72, 77, or 82mm threaded fronts. An optional 4 x 5.65" stackable filter holder lets you mount 4 x 5.65" filters on the matte box. Other modular components, such as a top flag, dual circular filter tray, filter protector, and rubber hood for shooting up against windows, are available separately.

Variable ND System

The included VND module enables you to precisely adjust the ND effect from 0.3 to 2.7 stops. The module has built-in hard stops between ND 0.3 to 2.7 to reduce the chance that the dreaded X-pattern shadow appears. The variable ND has no color shift for natural colors, and it has a larger axis between the filter elements. Tilta recommends that to prevent vignetting, use ND 0.3 to 2.1 for wide lenses and ND 2.1 to 2.7 for focal lengths beyond 35mm. The geared adjustment mechanism allows you to control the VND module using an optional motor.

Designed for the Wind

The matte box body has been designed to aid the airflow with integrated vents that can reduce wind resistance and improve stability when shooting subjects at high speeds, such as in a car or on a drone.

Modular Design

The modular design allows you to configure your matte box in a variety of ways: from completely stripped down using only the 95mm filter holder with the lens clamp to adding a 4 x 5.65" stackable tray, the included lens hood, the included top flag, or swapping the hood for an optional rubber hood. Additionally, you can add the optional 15mm LWS rod support, so you can mount the matte box to rods for handling heavier filter loads, such as the optional VND (variable neutral density) system.

95mm Circular Filter System

Tilta's 95mm circular (round) filter system proves coverage for lenses with up to a 95mm outer lens barrel diameter, and it provides significant weight savings over traditional filters, as the circular filters weigh about 1/4 the weight of traditional 4 x 5.65" glass filters.

Filters

An optional 4 x 5.65" stackable filter tray can be added between the filter clamp and matte box hood, allowing you to easily add one or two 4 x 5.65" filters to the matte box.

Tilta Lightweight Filter Clamp-On Adapter

Shooters who wish to secure filters to the front of their lens without the use of a matte box can do so with the Lightweight Filter Clamp-On Adapter from Tilta. It is compatible with the Tilta Variable ND, enabling camera operators to keep their apertures wide, even in bright sunlight, as well as the polarizing filter, creating a sharp contrast between clouds and a blue sky.

With its incredibly light 4.6 oz design, this clamp can safely secure a filter to your lens without upsetting the balance of your rig. Especially when using drones and gimbals, this clamp is an essential component to a kit that punches well above its weight.

Secures Filters Directly to the Lens

This clamp-on adapter eliminates the need for a matte box or filter threads to mount the Tilta VND or polarized filter onto a lens. The clamp secures the VND or the 95mm polarizer to a lens or adapter ring with a 95mm front diameter.

Extraordinarily Lightweight

Weighing 4.6 oz, this filter clamp will not ground your drone or render your gimbal unusable. Its aluminum and stainless steel construction ensures that the tradeoff between weight and strength is kept to a minimum.

Tilta Rubber Hood for Mirage Matte Box

Replace the original aluminum hood on your Mirage matte box with the Rubber Hood from Tilta. The rubber hood snaps onto your matte box clamp to replace the original hood when shooting close-up or action shots. It can accept a single 4 x 5.65" filter and can also be used with the VND system.

Note:

The rubber hood cannot be used with the top flag.
